This is the warning from Noco when using battery repair mode.

NOTE: USE THIS MODE WITH CARE. THIS MODE IS FOR 12-VOLT LEAD-ACID BATTERIES ONLY. THIS MODE USES A HIGH CHARGING VOLTAGE AND MAY CAUSE SOME WATER LOSS IN WET (FLOODED) CELL BATTERIES. BE ADVISED, SOME BATTERIES AND ELECTRONICS MAY BE SENSITIVE TO HIGH CHARGING VOLTAGES. TO MINIMIZE RISKS TO ELECTRONICS, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY BEFORE USING THIS MODE.
Considering how many computers and other electronics a typical vehicle has onboard nowadays and how much each can fetch you if and when they get damaged, I personally wouldn't risk it. But it's you're car so it's really up to you if you think the odds are with you.

I replaced a Tucson and Ranger battery afterwards it had a CEL w/c I have to flush using an OBD scanner. From then, I always use the OBD port pin# 16to inject an external 12VDC whenever I replace a battery.

I even jump-started an innova using 6Ah Makita 18V battery, no probs whatsover. The starter could operate from as low as 7V to 24V, the electronics are much the same with built in filters to tolerate the wide voltage range. These automotive electronics are designed to handle double its voltage arnd 24 volts, higher than that like voltage spike more than 24V like due to a busted Alternator regulator then its a fried electronics.

My 7-stage charger with its 1st stage as desulfator-works by injecting around 17V and high frequency to remove the sulfates accumulated in the plates, i could even see and hear the inside of the battery boiling during this process. No harm made on the ECU and accessories I just make sure the car is on idle/sleep mode.

Ah well. I have only used the repair mode while the battery was disconnected. It just made more sense to me as I work with electronics as one of my hobbies. The thought of a pulsating and relatively elevated DC that's being fed back into the vehicle does not sit well with me.

Here's something I found elsewhere. Take it with a grain of salt, but I'd rather take the precaution.
