Dimming dashboard and dome lights - what could be the reason?

Your hard starting issues maybe mechnical in nature. Maybe.

Again, do not turn on your lights BEFORE starting your engine. Imbes na mapunta halos lahat na kuryente ng battery sa starter, nakikihati pa yung mga ilaw mo. Kaya naman siguro hirap umistart ang kotse mo.

Hehe, sarado naman po lahat ng lights sir. Yung dome light ko lang ang nakaopen, usually po kasi pag nag-i start ako ay nakabukas pa yung pinto ko :-)

Flourescent ba o incandescent ang dome lamp mo? Try mo isara ang pinto while starting.

Again, its Normal.. Not unless you already checked the items mentioned. O baka fuel related yan like spark plugs, HT wires, coil pack, carb, etc.. We can guess all day giving false diagnosis, but you're the only one who can tell if you start working with the isolation method.

my lights also dim when i start my car. and i assure you, there's nothing wrong with my charging system nor my new battery. and it's been doing this for years now..
btw, why did you buy a "reduction starter"?

usually po kasi pag nag-i start ako ay nakabukas pa yung pinto ko :-)

i find this a dangerous practice..

baka sir kaya nag dim headlights kasi matagal naka redondo para umi-start... so bumababa reserve capacity ng battery mo..

it would be a good idea sir to fix the hard starting issue kasi it will put a strain on your battery...

again normal lang mag dim dash lights during cranking

grounding kit lang katapat nyan.kulang sa ground..

minsan pag start mo.click lang tapos start mo ulit saka tutuloy.

Very informative ang discussion ng thread nato mga bro, yun din napapansin ko medyo parang nalabo mga ilaw sa loob ng dash nya kapag nag i istart tas medyo delay ng ilang segundo yung redondo pero kapag nag start na sya back to normal naman. sa umaga malamig pa makina kaya siguro parang hard starting pero kapag nag init na e wala naman.
