Pwede rin carbon brush or oil seal (w/vacuum pump units). Sabay narin yung bearings and or bushing.

Up ko lang 'to. My '92 big body corolla gli has the check battery light on and off. Pinalitan ko yung rear brakelight na parang aquarium, pina linis ko wiring sa engine bay (dami acc wiring na di na ginagamit), at pinapalitan ko batt terminals ko. Nawala naman check light for about 2 weeks. Tapos kagabi nag-check batt uli. Buti meron ako plug-in voltmeter. Aba! 14.5-15.9V! Overcharging na ang walang hiya. Pinatay ko agad radyo, baka madamay pa.
Voltage regulator IC agad ang suspetsa ko. Ayun, binaklas. Mga P2,600 daw repair (rewind and replace IC). Pero meron sila "reconditioned" units na like new. P3,500 for 90A, trade-in old unit. P4,500 daw pag walang trade-in. Tinawaran ko P3,000, pumayag naman. 3 months warranty. Ngayon very stable 13.9-14v. Voltmeters are a must for older cars.
Sa Mercedes Ave Pasig yung shop, katabi nung Rustans Expressmart sa Market Ave. Sana mag-tagal itong bagong-luma na alternator ko...

September 12th, 2009 08:27 AM #57ingat lang mga kapatid kapag magpapa check sa mga alternator shops, madalas babaklasin nila agad yung alternator niyo then sasabihin sira yun IC pati yung wire sunog na din. the best way to check kung kumakarga pa yung alternator is start engine and remove the terminal from the negative pole, kapag di namatay it means kumakarga pa yung alternator then kapag namatay sign na yan na weak alternator.
another thing is to check pag ok pa yung IC, start engine then habang umiikot yung pulley ng alternator dikitan ng wrench or any metal kapag minagnet ng pulley yung wrench ok na ok pa yung IC mo. pwedeng sunog na yung mga wires, or palit carbon lang ang problema.

September 12th, 2009 08:43 PM #58it's not a good idea to disconnect the batt cable when the engine is running .
that's not the right thing to do.
