Pare, tuning is a form of art. In fact, it's subjective and complexity only increases depending on how "sophisticated" your setup is. You should also define what your definition of sound quality is. Madami na nasa car audio industry are confused on what it stands that even the term "SQ" is often debated. Some say that SQ is "paghindi ka boom-boom", but that's incorrect by international standards. Some say that "basta clear siya", some say that "good sound that isn't overbearing. Walang loud bass, mids, treble, etc.".
Using competition metrics, we can judge sound quality by testing for specific parameters like width/depth of soundstage, tonal accuracy, etc. Most of us would just slap a Morel Maximo over a stock HU and call it "SQ", but most enthuiasts won't be content until they can accurately pinpoint that "triangle is 5 meters away from the microphone and is 70% to the right".
Anyway, debates aside, go follow Tsikotshop's post above. If he knows your equipments, he can guide you accordingly. It'll be a waste to discuss the distance measurement of time alignment if you aren't using a T/A ready HU for example. Good luck!

August 29th, 2011 04:05 PM #113hi guys. i'm planning to upgrade my lancer 93's sound system. sa ngayon, stock pa lang lahat. just need some suggestions regarding the following:
a. Pioneer HU - 2 or 3 pre-outs?
b. seps for the front door (no speakers as of now)
c. co-axial for the rear (currently have Pioneer TS G1630 installed)
No plans of buying a sub and an amp. Ang habol ko ay yung ma-improve lang sana yung audio quality. Tsikotshop, appreciate if you could provide a low end quotation. Thanks in advance.
