There are some questions I want to ask,
1. Is the price of the Peri at motioncars.com correct at P485k?
2. Is there an AT variant of the Peri?
3. How easy is it to get replacement/spare parts and service?
TIA

September 30th, 2009 09:42 PM #163Hi!
1. Nationwide standard price of GWPeri is actually P495k not P485k.
2. Five (5) speed Manual Transmission only as of this time.
3. Upon delivery of sold units, spare parts and service would be readily available. Meaning, we will not start delivering units until everything is good to go including after-sales.
Many thanks!

October 1st, 2009 01:37 PM #165Yes I may be a new member but you have to agree that the points that I've raised are legitimate. I do not recall disrupting or sabotaging this discussion. I was only raising questions that I'm sure future Great Wall Cars customers will also ask. Alam naman natin ang nangyari sa Cherry dahil biglang nawala parang bula ang karamihan ng dealers nila. Hopefully talagang "very thorough, very strategic and very strict" yung credit investigation nila sa mga potential dealers. Kahit siguro mag magreklamo sa barangay yung mga "peace loving car enthusiasts" kung tinakbo na yung pera nila wala rin sila magagawa.

After-sales support for me is a huge decision factor in purchasing vehicles. Another good example is Proton which had a presence here about 10 yrs ago. Where are they now? I dont see their cars running on the streets, owners must have given up on them just as the dealership bailed out.

October 1st, 2009 02:53 PM #167Yeah, pati FIAT, VOLKSWAGEN, and ALFA ROMEO which are all bigger than GREATWALL, have but dissappeared. They left the car owners hanging out to dry.
If GREATWALL, a much smaller entity, goes out of business in the country, kawawa sigurado ang mga buyers.
Kaya buying a car from a newcomer is a BIG RISK.

Now, we are getting constructive unlike the previous most recent posts which sound more like accusations than constructive thoughts.
I am not in any position to speak on behalf of Chery but in my own personal opinion, the problem is that the investment is foreign 'from Hong Kong' kaya wala silang pakialam kung ano ang mangyari after nila mag pull-out. They even terminated the only Filipino top executive in their company that is a real car enthusiast and who really cares about the clients. Same thing with Ford and GM in the 1980's when they pulled out because of the economic crisis back then. Also BMW who just recently pulled out leaving the dealers on their own.
It may not be the only reason, but the distributor being a foreign investor is a big factor as they really wouldn't give a s**t about us Filipinos who buy their products. All they care about is to cover their own asses.
Good thing Statemotor, which is the distributor, is a domestic corporation and as far as I know has a 100% Filipino equity. And being in the financial industry since the 1970's, they really know how to conduct credit investigations.
But investment is just one part of the story. The other major part is the support of the market. If the market will not accept, support and give the new and very promising products a chance to see daylight, it will be useless.
So let's hope for the best.
