July 26th, 2013 10:35 AM #43There's a new AUV on the block and everyone is invited to take it for a spin. Chevrolet Philippines - The Covenant Car Company Inc. (TCCCI), the exclusive importer and distributor of Chevrolet automobiles and parts in the Philippines shall officially launch the Spin in August 2013 but as a special pre-launch offer, Chevrolet Philippines is giving everyone a chance to preview this 7-seater, All-Around Utility Vehicle (AUV) in selected malls in Manila in the coming weeks and avail of discounted introductory price offers which starts at P798,888.00 for the 1.3L Turbo Diesel LS, P908,888.00 for the 1.3L Turbo Diesel LTZ and P 838,888.00 for the 1.5L LTZ gasoline engine.
Interested buyers can have a first-hand look at the Spin’s modern design and imposing stance with unique proportions, personality and visual appeal. The Spin comes standard with fog lights, roof rails and a built–in rear spoiler. The Chevrolet Spin is offered in two engine variants, a 1.3L Turbo-diesel engine equipped with CRDi (Common Rail Direct Injection) and chain-driven cams with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 1.5L DOHC gas variant mated with a first-in-its-class 6-speed Automatic transmission with driver shift control which provides a smooth ride, one of the highest torque rating in its class and euro-ride suspension. As the longest and widest in its class, its interior space which goes up to as much as 1,608 liters, more than 22 storage locations, more than 23 seating configurations bring to mind a vast number of fun and exciting possibilities. The inclusion of a Bluetooth hands-free capability with Audio Streaming System, a dual– airconditioning system with individual ventilation up to the third row and Chevrolet’s 5-year warranty underscore Chevrolet's reputation for bringing quality automobiles with great value and loads of convenience. All this makes this fun AUV truly outstanding for work, play and family. It is an ideal choice for urbanites with an active lifestyle while it is equally at home with various family activities from school-runs to long-distance driving.
Atty. Alberto Arcilla, President and Managing Director of Chevrolet Philippines- TCCCI says “The Spin is a very important part of Chevrolet’s product portfolio in the Philippines. We see a lot of great potential particularly in our 1.3 liter turbo diesel CRDi engine which is a first-in-its-class. This is why we took steps to ensure that our initial introductory offer for this new AUV is at a very competitive price range and backed-up by Chevrolet’s 5-year warranty. With the winning attributes of superior design, flexibility, spaciousness and efficiency in an all-around utility vehicle package, the Spin is a great new option for urban motorists and young families in the Philippines who are looking for a seven-seater vehicle with outstanding fuel – economy and versatility.
Don't miss checking out the Spin now doing its dealer rounds in selected Chevrolet dealers in Metro Manila or view the New Spin in select mall road shows specially decked in Dreamwork’s Turbo Movie display set-up this July and August. Catch the SPIN in these malls to avail of the special introductory price and get a chance to win awesome prizes.
Chevrolet Spin – Turbo Mall Roadshow schedules : Trinoma MRT Link from July 26 - 29, Megamall from August 1 - 7, Mall of Asia from August 8 - 14, Trinoma Activity Center from August 16 - 18, and SM Southmall from August 22 - 28.

My thoughts:
Great car, but the diesel variants are expensive. It doesn't justify the introductory price. Small displacement diesel engine with a manual transmission is significantly more expensive than the bigger displacement gas engine with an automatic transmission?

109ps /142Nm for a 1100kg car? Stronger than Innova's diesel.
More than adequate. At least on paper

thats a good thing to know. now i'm more excited to do a test drive. if only the sa's could only reserve me a slot for a test drive.
i'm also wondering what will be the typical pms cost for this unit. hope that by the time the units for sale landed on philippine shores, the dealership could come up with a figure already. im definitely eyeing that 1.5 ltz

Saw the 1.5LTZ at Trinoma kanina.
Even the SA's of nissan and mitsu were checking it out.
Looks like a smaller Orlando. Lower ride height than Avanza.
Parang Nissan Grand Livina.ang dating.
