March 17th, 2011 10:01 PM #3882hi! thanks!
i'm not sure what brand they are but they come with a one year warranty and it's reliable. waterproof din pati ballast. i bought it from a place called northcustoms in the cubao area. you can check em out on FB or multiply i think. its just a house but their "technicians" do a good job and a lot of people get stuff done there. reasonable ang price. free installation with them.i bought one before and it's been on our other car for more than a year no probs naman.
i opted not to get it done at the casa because they charge 3k for the installation and your warranty for the lights will still be void so sayang lang ang pera diba. as long as you get the correct size bulbs you should be fine. the headlights are h4 and the fogs h8.
by the way they'll be coming out with hid's for your reverse lights. imagine that. crazy! hahaha

March 21st, 2011 01:01 AM #3887*KrisKros, read up on getting projector retrofits.
The stock reflector headlights are not meant to reflect the light emitted by HIDs. Even if you aim your headlights lower, it will still be glaring towards oncoming motorists.
The exception to this of course are stock reflectors originally outfitted for HID use (of which, the Civic/Corolla 2.0 models are examples).
I suggest that if you guys are gonna do HID, do it right the first time, kesa gumastos pa kayo ulet in the future.

Thanks for the info. I've definitely been thinking if I would get a pair of HIDs or not..and i've discussed it with other Cruzers. As you've said..our headlight assembly isn't built or HIDs thus causing unwanted glare.
Retrofitting also seems to also have its risks.
it seems our stock wattage is around 55w. i might look into upgrading the wiring and sockets to accomodate higher wattage bulbs.

March 21st, 2011 08:07 AM #3889Some aftermarket bulbs come in stock wattage but provide more illumination (OSRAM Nightbreakers / Philips Xtremepower come to mind). Maybe may mahahanap ka in 55w form (not sure din ano normal wattages ng mga 'toh). I think these come in varying forms of "white" din for the HID-like color.
Pansin ko rin, kapag naka HID na non retrofit, the provided visibility *may* also decrease kasi nga sabog nga yung light output.(glaring na nga, ganito pa)
Much better if you can find bulbs that will fit as-is, para mas konti yung gagalawin mo sa electricals ng kotse. Even if a car is well-maintained mechanically, super headache ang electrical issues down the line kapag pinag-chop chop na yung electricals. Hirap na i troubleshoot.Last edited by mda; March 21st, 2011 at 08:09 AM.
