The bridge has been burned, likely di ka na makakabalik unless you're so irreplaceable that they couldn't find anyone else to fill your role.

You can still mend your personal relationships with the people you've crossed but professionally I think it's difficult.

You made a choice, you live with the consequences.

If you don't like the consequences you're seeing now, then go make those calls and return to your job now while there's still a chance to return.

just tell the next prospective employer what happened. the company was closing down.. they were going out of their way to create a position for you...
it's not like you're leaving the company at the time when they needed you most.
"i felt it was time to explore other possibilities."
    employers (esp, americans) appreciate honesty.
"it's difficult enough to run this company. do i have to read your mind as well?"
    heh heh.

Kilala mo ko, right? I shoot straight.

From the time i first posted in this thread pansin mo ba di na ko nagpost ulit? Kasi nakita ko from your succeeding posts decided ka na, to leave. 9 out of 10 said to stay, you were still saying you wanted to leave. You were waiting for someone here to validate your decision. eq_addict, or was it uls, the one i think who told you first to leave and you were happy with his advice. You are afraid to make the decision alone.

Decided ka na even before you started this thread. Follow your heart's desire cath. In the end it will only be you who will decide. Not us. Not your boss. Not all those VPs and AVPs. Just you. And your decision was already clear 3 weeks ago. Ayaw mo lang aminin because you are afraid of it.

I still don't understand why the bridge has been burned. The director gave me a choice and I chose to leave. I was told kasi that she thought I was joining her team because she gave me all the considerations (and so much more) I know management doesn't want me to leave kaya even the VP of APAC and my VP boss gave me instructions to retract.

Anyway, yung German AVP ko na ka close ko talaga, he is still supportive of me. Yung VP ko, I know if I ask for his help, hindi rin yun tatanggi kasi may personal relationship na kami.

Re my role, tanggal na yung kasi specialist ako and that role was specifically for me. Nakatipid na sila na wala na silang specialist sa Manila hehe

It breaks my heart to leave the company that gave me so much happiness for over a decade but in the end we are all just numbers. More than 70 people who lost their jobs because India is cheaper. They don't want to let me go kasi may pakinabang ako. Pero yung iba, anong ginawa nila? Dropped them like hot potatoes. Nakakaawa yung kwento sakin ng isang staff na iyak ng iyak kasi she does not want to leave the company pero walang mai offer na position sa kanya. She applied for the role that I rejected (for Japan) and she was not hired by the VP. Anyway, that is another story kasi it seems like may issue siya with her network

Dati pa ko nagbibiro na pag may redundancy unahin na nila ko hahaha! But when it did happen to me (BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR) it was not an easy decision pala. The director made it SO hard for me by giving in to all my consideration, then I had management (VPs, AVPs) and even staff telling me to stay, sobrang touched talaga ako! I agonized for days, 3 days ata ako walang tulog pero my Mom helped me decide din. She said that was what I originally wanted naman. Basta make sure that I can make my money last and at least I can stay for as long as I want in the US. May side din kasi ako na I don't wanna go to work while there is covid, although the director allowed me to work from home 100% until the pandemic is over, I think it would be so unfair for her other staff.

Salamat sa support, I do hope I made the right decision.

para sa akin, lahat ng desisyon ay tama sa oras na ginawa mo sya.
in your case, wala naman magsasabi na mali ang ginawa mo. because you got all the reasons to do it, period!

Reading this post about not being able to decide makes me feel how I feel every time. Are you a Libra? I'm not much into Zodiac signs/horoscopes etc but my friend who's good at it was able to describe me and others based on our signs. And I was surprised na it was really accurate.

Btt: 2 companies scheduled to call me today. Can't decide on either. 1 is near the house, offering midshift with lower salary. The other is offering temporary wfh with higher salary but when it's no longer temporary is in BGC[emoji37]. Both have pros and cons. The extra higher pay I know will just go to gas and parking. But if the wfh is going to be long, then that's advantageous to me pero mahirap asahan yun. I like the 1st company too but scared to work in an office at this time due to the increase in cases.[emoji31]

Yung near sa location ang pipiliin ko kaagad dyan.. Try to negotiate, you will never know..
Before I signed up for my current employer.. I have second thoughts during contract signing because the increase in salary seems not enough (kasi di mo alam politika ng company, you need to consider kung kelan ka pa ba pwede ma-promote.. dapat yung asking mo is sustainable halimbawa sa 2-5 years na walang promotion.. promotion not increase iba pa yun).. Then I voiced out my concern and stated the reason why.. And then the Manager went outside the room and talked to somebody in the phone.. Pagbalik nya, nagulat ako meron palang 2nd contract na printed na!! With the amount na I'm expecting.. [emoji23]
Deep inside gusto ko pa sana magbiro, may 3rd contract pa kaya?? Hahahahahaha [emoji23]
If kaya pa maghintay, baka naman... Tawagan ka pa ng mas better..
    Good luck po..
