I live in a condo and it's not advisable to buy and raise a family there.

It's weird seeing kids running around in a hallway than in a garden you've built. It gets even weirder seeing a great dane in a small condo.

Only reason why I love condos is I can afford to rent it and I'm near the office and I'm single. I can't have someone look over it when I'm gone. May bantay naman 24 hours. So that's a peace of mind for me.

Granted I wanna start a family, the house and lot is the better choice. Just pick a good subdivision and neighborhood. You'll be ok.

And don't forget the house' history too.

this is sooo true... if your going to live alone and probably a wife without a kid, its ok...

but if you already got kids... its much better to get a house than a condo...

I live in a house with relatives before and everything works fine.. but now im in a condo. and im doing everything all by myself. Also the big problem is THE LAUNDRY... tsk tsk hirap.pero masaya kasi malapit sa office. kasama gf.walang storbo ganu. very independent. doing everything on our own.

yung condo kasi parang kapag single ka at gusto lang magtry to be independent...mas ok yung house kapag magstart ka na bumuo ng family kasi your kids can move around saka mapapaganda mo pa bahay mo, ang condo medyo limited kasi...

a house is much better than a condo. with a condo, it's like you're still renting an apartment, except for the (big) advantage of being able to sell it later on and make money. but the same problems of an apartment - tight space, conflicts with management/neighbors, are all still there. the only advantage is that they tend to be less expensive, and less surface area to maintain.

nothing beats a house of your own - you can do whatever you want with it and the lot around it..."customize" it to your heart's content. parang "the sims" in real life :D

It is costlier to live in a condo. But if you're tired of traffic and need quick access to your workplace, living in a condo is advisable.

get a house and lot. better for the kids. agree with all the posts. andaming association dues, etc na kailangang bayaran monthly. also, kailangang pakisamahan pa yung ibang unit owners.

I have this condo unit and I get complaints all the time dahil sa "customizations" na ginagawa ko sa Unit ko. hehehe no time para magpaalam. basta hammer away ako..

i guess a condo would make sense kung maganda talaga location, i.e. close to workplace, close to schools, supermarket, etc. the savings you make in time and effort may(and i emphasize *may*) justify the other expenses you incur with a condo.

i think the drawback between a condo and H&L is the transportation. true, the association dues etc. will drive you crazy. but if you figure the time and fuel saved, baka patas lang..
