that's manila rate na? does logic na mas mura sa probinsya hold true? o irrelevant sa mechanic?

so how do you determine experience / competence? purely years of experience lang ang basis?
18k is Negros rate. He gets all mandated government benefits, plus the usual SSS, Tax deductions, etc. We provide him and his family with free housing and his kids, elementary education (public). Manila rate would usually be higher. You might want to ask a possible applicant on what kind of trucks (Japanese/American/Chinese/Korean) he has worked on? If he knows engine, transmission, underchassis overhaul, electrical work, so on and so forth, and how many years has he done these types of work.

From there you can (maybe) gauge his capability. You might also want to ask for his desired salary, prior to you hiring him.

Nga pala, you're looking for a "truck" mechanic, not an auto mechanic. Trucks have a few differences in operating systems from cars.
