hello fellow tsikoteers. tanong ko lang po if compatible yung mga maps sa mapcenter.com(ung binigay na link sa taas) with nokia N95? newbie lang po ako. and how do i set the gps sa N95? thanks po.

Sorry, para sa Garmin lang yung maps na nasa link.
Kung map browsing o navigation, Menu - Maps lang ang pindutin mo sa N95. Para naman sa ibang info, Menu - Tools - GPS Data. Kung gusto mo ng voice-guided navigation, may extra charge para gamitin yon ... which is not worth the cost, dahil hindi naman detailed yung map. Ire-rekomenda ko sana ang Route66 o Tomtom software kesa Smart2Go ng Nokia, pero pareho sila walang mapa ng Pilipinas.
As it is, pwede mo pa naman gamitin yung ibang GPS functions tulad ng positioning. At bago mo nga pala magamit yung GPS receiver, maghihintay ka muna ng mahigit 1 minute out in the open, para mag-lock sa sat signals yung GPS receiver ng N95. Mabagal kasi hindi pa sensitive.

this is a map made by philippine gps enthusiasts. you can also contribute your waypoints and tracks in waypoint.ph
workable na. almost complete na yung mga streets for manila and some major cities.
plenty of duplicates though.

^^nice!^^ that would really help out alot! specially for me since I dont know my way around in the Philippines! lolz! I'll definitely bring a GPS when we visit back to the motherland!.

Guys, newbie question po. What gadget/s do I need to buy in case I want a GPS navigation system in my car? Do you have an idea how much would that cost me? My ride has a provision for a 2din HU upgrade. Im based here in the Philippines. Thanks!

February 11th, 2008 11:08 AM #120For the currently avaialble maps, all you need is a Garmin GPS (www.garmin.com). Tons of options available but the one designed for in-car navigation is the Nuvi series.
Unfortunately, Garmin doesn't make DIN HU units.
