GPS in HU is much better than using our smartphone, just enable the voice navigator ,di mo na kailangan tumingin lagi sa screen,at dis advantage pa ng smart phone, daling ma drain, kaya kailangan lagi naka plug sa lighter socket, just my opinion

I don't know about the newer GPS devices now. But, my Garmin doesn't warn about police speed traps like the GPS in my friend's cellphone. No wonder he was speeding on the New Jersey Turnpike.

For me, Much better pa rin yung built in GPS/ or stand alone navigator compare to smartphone. Sa smartphone kasi, kelangan may good 3G coverage in order to use Google Maps, Waze and other navigation apps.I experience it while I drove from Davao City to North Cotabato, many areas na walang 3G coverage, unlike kung may GPS kahit saan may coverage, maliban na lang kung di pa updated yung road na yun.

September 23rd, 2014 09:44 AM #156I prefer smartphone. Mainly because I can easily transfer or move it from one vehicle to another. Now, I am saving up to buy a tablet for a bigger screen. I don't want to buy a stand alone gps navigation system because I can get its functionality from a smartphone tsaka I don't want to bring extra device just for that sole purpose.
Daming application na offline ang navigation, no need for internet connection. Just download the map to you phone and you have an offline navigation system

Unless the vehicle has a built in GPS... i'd still prefer google maps on my smartphone

I like Nokia's OVI maps best. That's why I still keep my N6730c, despite its tiny 2" screen
