Take note of the time and date, location of the accident, environmental conditions, direction of travel by you and the other party, makes and models of both vehicles. Be as detailed as possible to the point that it would seem a complete idiot will be reading the data. (sometimes not too far from the truth)

Also get the license information of the other guy (name, address, license number, birthday) include yours as well.

Take a lot of photos of the accident scene and try to include the license plate numbers of the vehicles whenever possible. If you can print them on the spot all the more the better as it will hopefully save you from the horrendous charge the crocs (read: cops) will ask from you to get an "official photograph" of the vehicles (new racket, this one.) using a cheap ass digicam or a traditional film cam.

Write a summary of what happened and be as detailed as possible. And both of you must sign it.

This will help filing the report if necessary since the details will still be fresh in your minds and to make sure no one denies anything when the filing takes place. If you will not file with the crocs, er, cops, these details will still help you file the affidavits to claim with your insurance.

I guess this is it. If I have left anything out, please feel free to add

    Hope this helps.

OKay ito makakatulong ito ng malaki sa mga motorista, pero hindi ba may kasama na SKETCH PAPER(it looks like a biodata, na sa magkabilang gilid ng bond paper ay doon nakalagay ung mga details about sa involved drivers) ung insurance, or depende sa insurance company kung may kasama n ganoon klase ng papel?

Yes, it's true that you have to reiterate everything, including the sketch, at the station when filing the report but I'm sure your memory may not be quite accurate anymore.

The purpose of documenting everything on the scene is to make sure that no details are left out and your report will be as accurate as possible.

Besides, isn't it easier to just copy the info down rather than just trying to put everything together at the station?

If you have an insurance cover and the accident happened in metro manila
then the first thing you should do is call your insurance company and wait for
the adjuster, "do not admit anything" I think that will be in your insurance policy
so let the adjuster decide. It will take him 20 to 30 minutes to
get to the accident site. Normally the adjuster will be carrying a presigned
check not to exceed 20,000 pesos, if the damage is less than 20,000 pesos
and you agree with his estimate you can take the check and take your car to a repair
facility of your choice. If more than 20,000pesos ang damage then you can have it towed
in the meantime to your residence or to an accredited repair facility.

Wag ka na mag react o mag mura or whatever, it is basically water
under the bridge. Talagang ganoon accidents happens.

Sorry for the noob question sir, but how do you get a vehicle impounded? Do you just ask the traffic enforcer or police to impound the other guy's vehicle?

Nangyari na din kasi sa kin yan thrice. Yung dalawa maliliit lang naman kaya I just let it go. Yung last malaki-laki and I have comprehensive insurance naman, kaya lang P200 lang binigay sa king ng motorcycle driver, yun lang daw pera nya. I was asking for P2,500 for my participation. Lagi naman daw syang dumadaan sa subdivision namin kaya hahanapin na lang nya number namin para magbayad. As expected, di na nagpakita kahit kailan.

Ok ito a. Which insurance company does this? Is this a personal experience? What's your insurance company and I will have mine insured as well.
