February 10th, 2015 10:44 PM #14Most insurance will settle the claim if premium is already partially paid, if it has PDCs especially if still within the 90day grace period, and if it is a renewal policy. However, if it is a brand new unit with no payment whatsoever, especially if it is a big loss, I doubt any insurance will settle it, unless of course if you are a valued client and you have collateral businesses with that particular agent/insurer.
However, in this case, the insurance coverage is not in question here. It is likely that BPPIMS and the dealer have an agreement in place so this is not a problem. I think what he is complaining about is the slowness of the processing. Now is still not the time for IC intervention though. You have to give ample time for the insurer to assess the damage first. It is not as easy as it looks. IC will only come in in case of nonpayment, or any dispute in the settlement of the claim.
