Getting 390km out of the advertised 500km range, especially with that sort of traffic sounds like a good result in my opinion.

Of course the problem is really when it's time to charge. Imagine if every car at the gas station took two hours to fill up.

At the end of the day EVs are just not suited for long distance travel. Best to keep the whole trip within the car's driving range, or have charging available at the destination and enough range to make it there with a good safety buffer.

On the radio this morning, I heard another case of ebike causing fire while charging overnight. Without government intervention, on proper import product inspection, this is a hazard all Filipinos are in danger.

That is true.

But let's do note that the build quality of ebikes and passenger car EV's are as far apart as the division of rich and poor in the Philippines. Batteries and battery management systems are substantially different well.
