I guess I mustn't feel bad for getting 23-25mpg with a diesel in mixed driving that I got for free 3 years ago, and considering it's 24 years old too!
If I go for highway drives, 27mpg is not too far! Diesel is now at $2.76/gal where we are...
Conventional tune ups? Ano yon?Last edited by mbeige; January 28th, 2007 at 03:25 PM.

January 28th, 2007 08:04 PM #12Car just got serviced at the dealers -- kaya ko nga napansin. Ngayon lang me nagpa-service na hindi nag-skyrocket to 12+ yung km/l ko. Madami na me naging car kaya kabisado ko na ang maintenance more or less. Even my tires are at 31 and I check every 3-4 weeks.
Interesting points yung birit at valve tuppets. Di ba yung valve tuppets ina-adjust lang pag overhaul? O major tune ups din? Baka major tune up na kasi yung naka-sched sa susunod na service eh.
Hehe. The birit thing is true enough to some extent. Kaya nga hindi ako kumikibo nung bumaba from 13+ to 12+ eh. Kaso 10+ na. It's not too bad pa din for a 5 year old car coz I know most 5-year olds are darn lucky to get 9. Just thinking if there's a way to get it back to 12.

January 28th, 2007 10:20 PM #13valve tappets/clearance needs to be checked/adjusted from time to time din.
usually, every 20,000kms, or much better if checked every 10,000kms....
