solo flight pinoy inventors don't stand a chance against engineers employed by corporations with huge R&D budgets
the "inventions" of pinoy inventors aren't even at par with high school science projects

99.99% of them think that all filipinos are as gullible as the next voter. or mangmang investor.
remember the deuterium craze a decade back? lots of people invested their money in that, just because of a foolish claim that the mindanao deep, being the 'deepest part of the ocean' (IT IS NOT!) should, by false logic, be the depository of heavy water. and all this even before experiments in cold fusion even came a hair-width close to reality (it still is just but a dream). SO WHO GAINED? or more importantly, WHO LOST? the foolish, uninformed investors. daming mangmang na ofw na naglagay ng life savings nila dun tapos naglaho na parang bula yung mga promotor.
same with dingle. invest ka muna (and no money back guarantee) bago niya sasabihin sa iyo ang secret. weeeeh!
and same here! trying to get elected to the senate, and lately, as barangay chairman, using this so called invention. "pag nanalo ako may free energy lahat ng kabarangay ko".
para din sa mga tumataya sa lotto na nagdadasal sa simbahan, "Lord pag nanalo ako sa lotto ibibigay ko 10% sa simbahan/charity". tinatawanan lang ni Lord eh.

inventing costs money. and corporations have that money. as such, individuals coming up with an original invention are few..
corporations apply for patents left and right, sometimes not because they know it will accomplish something, but because they do not want the competition to use it.

to put things into perspective here's the 17 yr old kid from Ca who won the top prize at the recent Google Science Fair
ito project niya:

Short Project Description
The emergence of new highly lethal influenza viruses such as H5N1 and H7N9 poses a grave threat to the world. My project is to discover novel influenza endonuclease inhibitors as leads for a new type of anti-flu medicine, effective against all influenza viruses including pandemic strains. By combining computer modeling and biological studies, I identified a number of novel, potent endonuclease inhibitors. I also performed comprehensive structural analysis, laying ground work for further design and optimization of the anti-flu drug candidates.

Emerging strains of the flu virus are very close to becoming pandemic, bugs capable of killing millions of people. This stark realization prompted a young researcher named Eric Chen to accelerate the development of new antiviral drugs that could save lives. For his efforts he took top prize at the Google Science Fair Monday — he's just 17 years old.

he used current technology and applied it in a novel way.
this boy is good! he used material (programs) that even many post-doctoral experts have difficulty in understanding, much less use.
and he's asian (chinese), just like us.
it just takes some imagination..
btw, take a gander at their trophies.. lego blocks! ... puts in perspective what we need in order to "invent"..Last edited by dr. d; September 28th, 2013 at 12:55 PM.
