October 2nd, 2007 12:08 AM #1031It cost me about P47,500. Its actually P50,000 minus 5% kasi cash basis. They also had to drill holes on my manifold.
Malinis naman workmanship nila, but Im a little bit disappointed kasi their 67 liter tank ate up a big chunk of my trunk. We measured the 60L tank and it appears that the fit would have been much better. They are willing to replace it as soon as I consume my tank of LPG. I remember ang pinagusapan namin was the 60L tank, pero ang ininstall was the 67L one.
Ive seen 3 technicians so far. The eldest one seems very knowledgable and seems to care a lot about the client. When the other 2 told me na hindi na pwedeng gawin iyon (like cut the plywood which used to cover the spare tire), he instead volunteered to do it for me without me even asking. He was concerned about my schedule and was the only one who addressed me as "Doctor"
Also, he was the one who informed me that a 60L tank was available and questioned the other technician bakit 67L yung ininstall. He went on to measure the trunk and explained that it would have fit much better with it.
Madali naman kausap si Sharon (the owner) as she said they'll replace the tank as soon as I finish my lpg.
Im honestly disappointed by the fact that they destroyed my radio set. The technicians tell me that it became like that when they plugged the battery back. But both the manual and the mitsubishi service people tell me that it appears someone tampered with its security codeThe savings I'll get will go to a new Head Unit pa tuloy
Sharon referred me to her friend in Mitsubishi who was the one who agreed with my diagnosis. I dont know if she will be willing to share the cost of repairing/replacing it. Her actions regarding this will tell me a little bit more about their customer care.
Pero otherwise, madali naman silang kausap. Also, their electronic switch to select LPG-Gas had a slight defect (nasira 1 LED) which appeared after 1 day. They replaced it naman kaagadAs of the moment, my car will still need to undergo tuning sa kanila.
One problem I had was that yesterday, the car smelled like gas after it was parked for a long time, and during traffic going to Cubao. I brought it to them this afternoon. The younger technician immediately looked for a leak and found none. He then searched the engine compartment and told me that I need to ask my aircon service technician to seal off the space surrounding one of the aircon's pipes leading to the cabin. When the older technician saw this, he told the younger one to seal it off himself using something in their shop. He also went around the trunk, removed the spare tire, and found a hole in the bottom of my trunk whose rubber seal was missing. In theory, fumes from the car and other cars would enter the hole and make the car smell like gas. The problem didnt appear before because I had a huge piece of plywood covering the spare tire and everything under it (including the hole). When the tank was installed, the plywood was removed. Anyway, the older technician, then made his own seal for it, out of rubber matting and sealed it himself by buying rugby.
I was expecting more out of their service honestly, but they have that personalized feel which I like with some small shops. However, they are quite young. Sharon is quite ***y and looks around 25 years old. Except for that older technician, the other 2 dont seem to have so much experience. Of course normal yan sa LPG industry kasi medyo bago pa lang sa market lahat ng kits, pero its the way they handle the problem which makes it look like they are inexperienced.
One of the problems I see is that Sharon is not always in her shop and her shop is closed on Saturday and Sundays. Its hard to catch her shop open when we are free, and the work of her employees are not always supervised (kaya nga nasira radio ko). They will transfer to Mindanao Ave. soon daw, with a large lpg filling station in their name. I must commend her though for being such a young enterpreneur. The aldessa kits really do look good. The molding of their metal parts, for instance, is really nice as compared to some of the other kits Ive seen. The pipings and plastic parts look much better than some of the other brands. I hope that Sharon's small shop continues to grow in experience and I guess my car will be one those they will gain more experience from.
Im waiting for Sharon to send me the pics of my car so I can post them here

October 3rd, 2007 01:34 AM #1035Actually pinapawash nila yung car kay Big Bert's before releasing it. Kaya mine was really clean
BTW, Sharon's agreed to share in the expense of the repair of my radioI used the term "share" not "shoulder" cause I dont know how much of it she will pay for.

October 3rd, 2007 01:45 AM #1036I actually inquired about upgrading from Venturi to SGI. I was told practically only the tank can be reused, kaya the expense is almost like buying a new one.
I think it'l be better to just sell the whole venturi kit then purchase a new SGI one. Someone did that sa thread na ito, kaso naka 50 pages na tayo kaya hirap hanapin...

October 4th, 2007 05:41 AM #1038Web,
thank you very much! That is most providential as I am planning to remove the petrol tank in my KIA Pride as soon as I can. The fuel pump died of a perforated diaphragm and leaked fuel all over the intake manifold. I believe this is because of the pump hammering on a closed float valve. Since I hadn't used petrol over the last 6 months the smell of stale gasoline cooking over a hot manifold was like old varnish!
Plan to now remove all gasoline fittings and go dedicated propane for safety's sake. Simply closing the gasoline supply to carburator is obviously not the wise thing to do. I suppose a by-pass and a return line would be safer but would mean that all that energy would be wasted since I never use gasoline anymore.
I will call FMC and see if they can custom-build a tank that will fit where the gasoline tank used to be.....
naku delay na naman ung install nung mercedes....dipa pala tapos si KIA.....
thanks for the address Web, will keep you updated.

October 4th, 2007 11:46 AM #1039Hello all.
I'm fairly new to the taxi business and I'm having Macro LPG install their kits on ten (10) of my units. Eight (8) are Corolla XLs and two (2) are Sentra GXs.
They quoted me 25K a piece for the Corollas, and 55K for the Sentras. A little expensive, but at least they gave me twelve (12) months to pay with ZERO interest. (Are these prices reasonable? Parang ang mahal kasi nung sa Sentra)
Anyway, is it true that it is not advisable for those who are using the Macro kit to fill up in other LPG stations? They advised me to tell my drivers na NEVER daw magkakarga sa NAIADSS, and as much as possible dapat sa Macro lang. Is this true or gimmick lang nila?
I'm having the kits installed first thing tomorrow morning, is there anything else I should know before I push through with the install?
I'm sorry I don't have the time to read the whole thread, pardon me if this question has already been answered. Thanks in advance.Last edited by Bry; October 4th, 2007 at 11:49 AM.
