You should get the XT. There will be no XT model on the next generation Forester.

If carrying a big dog, I would suggest the Forester over the XV. All Forester models are on sale (200k off).

Oo nga, very tempting. I was all set on a gas CRV later this year (3Q/4Q) but with the current Subaru sales... I need to talk to my "boss" about this when she's in a good mood.

measure the cage, sir, and then go see the kona and the vitara, and see if the measurements can be accommodated. if dog is still "small", make allowances for growth (of dog and of cage).

Take the Vitara for a test drive and also the Civic. I suggest you also give the Subies a test drive.

If you really want a crossover, take the Civic out of your choices. In terms of capability, I don't think the Vitara is up there with the XV.
