Can't say whether or not I'd hit it... siguro if it came in 2.0 R manual, I'd consider it. I'm too much of a speed freak to get an AT only car.

The 3 came here around mid-2004, but if i'm not mistaken its been out in the US since 2003.

February 11th, 2006 01:49 AM #16I don't have those underpowered feelings...ever since I've mastered driving 100% using Activematic... and since I drive a hatch, it's the quicker and lighter at the steering wheel among the 1.6L 3's.

February 13th, 2006 09:24 PM #18I say the Mazda 3 had it's glory so get the Focus. They're essentially the same afterall (I haven't confirmed if both had rear independent suspension though), but the subtleness of the Focus really wins my heart. I don't drive a Mazda 3 everyday that's why I have the guts to blab all day about the Focus when the two are in comparison, but I'm not saying that the Mazda 3 isn't a cool car anymore in it's class. It's a good car but unfortunately there's a better one.

The Focus is more settled than the 3 over rough surfaces, but the 3 feels sharper. Both have independent rear suspensions. The Focus is heavier, but better insulated. Any choice between the two really depends on which suits your taste, as the Mazda is more a bachelor's car, while the Focus is for the aspiring junior exec.
