wala sa engine size ang fuel-efficiency. it's determined by the inherent efficiency of the engine plus the work that it has to do i.e. heavy/lightweight car/load including aerodynamics, speed, etc. so don't base your decision on 1.3 vs 1.5. the differences are too small to be a major factor
5 years is nothing for a well-maintained toyota/honda. don't expect to fix anything in 5 years. and don't worry about periodic maintenance for the honda: just use mineral oil and change it every 10,000kms/6mo as spec'd in the manual. honda PMS is actually reasonable compared to other brands. toyota will even try to rip you off w/ their 3month interval
parts costs for vios/city are pretty much the same. we're talking about current-gen cars here, not a frikking 80's/90's corolla
get the City it's a no brainer

August 4th, 2017 12:32 AM #142sirs,
We are planning to buy a new car too..we are targeting to purchase until end of the year, its our first car and my first time to drive. My knowledge about cars ay pang beginner pa lang nitong mga nakaraan pa lang ako nag start magbasa basa about cars
So far consideration namin is Honda City 1.5 E CVT para sakin kasi ang astig nya. Never pa kami nakapunta sa mga dealer pero planning na din kami soon para makakuha na kami ng quotes. Any tips how to negotiate with the sale agents? Wala pa po kasi ako ideas ng mga tamang itanong sa kanila

August 28th, 2017 01:30 AM #147Tama ba understanding ko? 500K cash will be loaned from your company? Remaining 300K, your share?
If yes, pwede na yan sa bank. Downpayment mo yung 500K, then remaining 300K, bank finance.
But I rather suggest, you borrow 300K from other financing institution na mas mababa ang interest para cash mo siya sa casa. No more monthly interest payment sa bank. This is, if yung cash loan mo sa company has lower or no interest at all compared to bank.

Alsp check if your company will not require you to mortgage the car under the name of the company. Otherwise, you cannot take a separate auto loan from the bank.

August 29th, 2017 12:19 AM #149yes sir, correct 500k will came from company and payable sya with no interest. The excess we tried to look for other sources kaso ala kami makita na good rate vs auto loan. We tried na kunin yung excess from personal loan kaso mas malaki pala magiging interesy nya kaya eto bagsak kami sa auto loan. On process na application namin sa BPI para macover yung excess sa 500k. And nga pala we are going with Mirage G4 instead ala eh narealized namin medyo magiging tight kami if city
gustong gusto ko talaga city sana kaso ayaw pumayag ni fiancee
... moving on ako now unti unti ko ng tinatanggap si G4 pero ang hirap pala ano if yung gusto mo na car sana tapos di mo mabili
