Since CRV's 4x4 is crappy as per feedback, choice is down to the Xtrail and Forester.

Would you guys know the FC of the Forester and the new Xtrail on city driving?
The GV has 4x2 and 4x4 variants. I have the 4x4 variant. Bootspace for the GV is excellent since it does not have the rear jumpseats.

FC of the forester is about 5-8km/liter, i'm not sure about the new Xtrail yet since my uncles Xtrail is the old one. i'm sure it won't be that different between the xtrail and forester. the best way to pick between the 2 is to test drive both and see which will suit you more.

anyway, why do you need the 4x4? will you go off road? province? if most of your daily commute is the city then there's no point in getting a 4x4.

Among your choices, I'd pick the X-Trail, though you really have to be aware that it isn't very fuel efficient due to its displacement. It's practical though, having a huge rear luggage space and it's go-anywhere chassis that is above par when compared to other soft-roaders. Though I do concur that the GV would be better off-road.

X-Trail's fuel consumption is around 6-8 km/l mixed.

In Europe, where they sell both X-Trail and Forester, X-Trail wins in total sales and in reviews.

Between your two choices, i`d go with the Xtrail ...

Forester 2.0x = too bare. Kung XT, no doubts ... eto na.
CRV 2.4 4x4 = looks are boring. driving it can be boring. taking it off road might not be that boring since, you'll hear thugs and clips falling off ... :hysterical: jk. hahaha.

I'll have doubts if it's a Subaru Forester 2.0X but if you get the 2.5XT, hands down na ako doon

If among the choices, IMO Honda CR-V gets top spot. Interior refinement is unbelievable, it has the best fuel consumption out of the three. Front is still ugly as ever, but when it comes to everyday practicality, it simply works.

Go for the X-Trail if you want some off-road powess. I'm still having doubts over it since I don't like the interior. Cheap and tacky plastics IMO.. but there's no denying it's utility in everyday life. Plus, you get Nissan's infamous aircon

Have done hillclimbing with the CR-V. Plumes of loose sand flying several feet in the air. Nothing fell off.

On any road-biased unibody vehicle with no skid plates (and the Forester is one of these), you don't really want to go rock-crawling. Lots of stuff that can break. In this case... if you really want to go off-road, the Jimny is the only serious choice if you don't want to buy a big truck like an Everest or a pickup.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Boot space wise, X-trail hands down. You can put 15 sacks of 25kg rice easily without folding the rear chairs. Although I wish the extra space is given to the 2nd row legroom instead. It's rare for people to use that much boot space here. Ride quality is also the best, way better than CRV since I've driven both. Seats are softer and you have a higher view in the driver's seat. The only thing that I really like with CRV is the rear legroom, other than that, Xtrail wins in overall ride experience. Just don't compare it with Forester XT.=D

Thanks for all the inputs but still can't decide. Right now, trying to internalize if the P200,000 premium of the xtrail 4x4 is worth it compared to the forester 2.0x. The forester 2.5xt is out of the picture due to budget constraints.

For the extra P200,000, I get leather seats, 20 more horsepower and that's about it. From the inputs, ride quality is about the same so I'm still lost.

If you were on my shoes, would you pay that extra premium to get the Xtrail?

Among these choices X-Trail for me. Had the previous gen Xtrail and the ride was ok, FC was so-so but the utility (space), confidence building manner in offroad conditions, a/c was what made it memorable. I got the 4x4 mainly for the power.

I'm also on the fence now for a new SUV. Was interested at the Tucson Diesel and Sorento Diesel earlier but these aren't available.

Choosing between what's available: Sta. Fe 4x2 or 4x4 2.2R, ASX GLS SE, X-Trail 4x4. Was looking at the Forester also before but I think a refresh is coming soon while the 3 other choices offer something new. 4wd is no longer a particular need as that need is taken cared of by a Strada 3.2 but I find the higher spec models are usually the 4wd. I wish car manufacturers would come up with higher spec 2wd for their models.

Anyway, as you can see my choices are not even in the same category. But I like all 3 for what they offer: the highly regarded diesel of the the Sta. Fe, reliability and no fuss usability of the X-Trail, and the features of the ASX GLS SE.

Can you give me your comments on these choices.
