I'm removing the Mazda 3 from my list since spare parts after the YOJIN3 will be expensive and if I sell it after 5 years it will have a low resale value.
So it will be the Toyota Altis G/V or Honda City VX or Honda Jazz VX or suggestions =)
I'm staying away from Korean cars, is the Kia Forte a compact sedan?

^^^ The Forte is a compact. The Rio is Kia's subcompact.
The Honda Jazz/City VX models are a bit pricey for a subcompact at 900k+. An Altis G with discounts will be a better option, in my opinion. If primarily used as a utility daily-driven sedan with a chauffeur, the City E model will do for 800k unless you opt to get all those extra features on the VX model. The resale value in the used market for the E and VX models will be roughly the same in 5 years time.

The Altis G is roughly the same price as a Jazz VX.
The Jazz is a better car, spec-wise. It has more toys, has a good engine, decent passenger space, humongous and versatile cargo area, and the H badge. It's quite pricey at 918k, but personally I prefer the Jazz than the slightly cheaper City just because the former has more character and pizzaz.
The Altis seems very bare on paper. But what the spec sheet doesn't say is that the Altis is huge inside - more spacious than any current compact in the market (the Sylphy is as spacious but has a hump on the rear floor). Its ride comfort and NVH is also class-leading. Handling isn't as good as a Mazda 3, but better than older Corollas. This is subjective, but the Altis looks way classier than a Jazz, especially if you upgrade the rims. At roughly 920k (949k less discounts), it's priced quite reasonably.
I'd say both are good choices, and it just depends on what you value most in a car.

May 3rd, 2016 11:17 PM #66Right now i'm lusting over the new 2016/2017 elantra, but HARI has this BS vibe... (bad service)
I went to a Hyundai dealer in Shaw a couple of months ago. They were not interested to talk to me, and they prefer to sit at their front desk while messaging on their mobile devices.
Couldn't tell them i could buy any of their cars on display, i'm just careful with my money and I'm very picky with what I buy.

May 3rd, 2016 11:20 PM #67Just posting... Whatever...
What I don't like about the Altis its... Weird dashboard.
Looks like a mini protective barrier of some sort, can barely see the hood, which feels weird as its a compact, and not a bus, which has a flat face. Lol
Its a very good car, but not sure if all that space is worth +100k compared to the Elantra (top spec).

May 5th, 2016 01:45 AM #68If legroom is top priority, you may also consider Almera. I think it has a bigger legroom than Sylphy and Altis and even my T32 Xtrail when I sat in it.

Vote goes to the Altis. Space is vast. I also like the dashboard, it looks very similar to the RAV4. I would skip the 1.6 G and go straight to the 1.6 V. The difference in price is worth it. That was a lesson I learned from being cheap by getting just the 1.6G.
