March 10th, 2017 12:58 AM #15tkms for a 4 year old car is very low mileage. Besides, since it is your friend's car, you can be certain of its condition and history. If you can persuade him to let go of it for "presyong pangkaibigan" then you got yourself a steal. Diesel LC resale values are almost as good as real estate! 😂

If the price difference between pajero and prado is not an issue, Prado. But for the price, go straight to LC, if you can afford a 3.9M suv, im pretty sure you can purchase a 4.5 to 4.9M LC200.

How about a Euro option? The VW Touareg is a bargain for its price considering it is a similar vehicle to the Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne TDI. The V6 TDI will give you more than enough grunt for some spirited driving.

Agree on the suggestion about getting a Toyota Land Cruiser LC200 since you can afford a Toyota Prado ... the price difference is just about 10-15% ... Ignore the Nissan Super Safari ... very few buy that vehicle ... the ones you see are probably owned by Nissan executives or dealership owners who are wishing they could get a Toyota Land Cruiser LC200 instead ...

March 9th, 2017 09:38 AM #7Sorry forgot to mention that I still prefer 7 seaters even if I won't need the extra seats here and now but it would be nice to have them as well. Also, how is the maintenance of euro cars these days? im worried that if needed, I might have to bring it to a mechanic outside case who might not be familiar with them...

VW-PH follows a 15k KM or 12-month PMS cycle for oil change and other stuff. There is a free checkup every 7500 km or 6 months in between the prescribed PMS period. Despite sharing the platform with the Q7 and Cayenne TDI, I bet VW parts will be cheaper compared to Audi and Porsche.
Visit VW BGC just to check out the Touareg. The last time I heard they were offering a hefty discount on it, bringing the price down to around 3.8M.

June 30th, 2017 10:56 AM #9Pajero is unibody construction while Prado / Safari are still the traditional body on frame construction. So choose whatever suits your needs....
unibody - nicer and more comfortable ride
BOF - if you prefer more rugged or off road handling

March 8th, 2017 02:02 PM #10^Patrol is often relegated to bodyguard duty nowadays. Our church pastor uses a Patrol for outreach/medical missions to the Aetas people. While the Patrol remains an excellent utility vehicle, when I look at it, it just doesn't have that prestige anymore. And if coming from a Santa Fe, you'd feel like you're driving a big lumbering truck!
