Civic Type R, not the base model Civic. The Civic Type R is built on the hatchback platform of the new Civic, not the sedan.

Please don’t look down at sedans. Some of the most well-engineered sporty cars are sedans.

    - WRX and WRX STi
    - Evolution
    - IS350
    - M3, M5
    - C63, E63
    - RS3, RS4, RS6

I’d pick a WRX or Evo than a BRZ/86 anytime of the day.

I would love to get an M2, but realistically, probably can only afford an m240i

As far as I know the M2 is a coupe like the M4. Only the M3 and M5 are sedans.

In case you are considering ND mx-5 MT, the early ones are known to have transmission problems especially when driven hard.

The safe one to get is 2017 softop or any of the RF since it came out in 2017. VIN # beyond 100726 should be safe.

The WRX is the more practical choice if you’ll be using it as your primary means of transportation.

The MX5 is wonderful if you have another vehicle for hauling items and people on days when it’s not just you (and a plus one).
