October 4th, 2017 12:30 PM #1Hi all,
I'm planning to buy a brand new car early next year and would like to have your opinion on which car.
We already have a Mux (m/t) so I'm looking for an a/t this time.
Priorities would be
1. Driving dynamics
2. Comfort
3. Maintenance cost
4. Fuel economy
5. Value for money
Space is not a problem since we already have an suv.
Thanks everyone

I'd spend an extra 100k on top of the 1M and get myself a Civic 1.8L. It checks all those 5 requirements you listed.
Below 1M, I guess you will be hard-pressed to get something that fits all the requirements.
1. Driving dynamics - Fiesta, Mazda2
2. Comfort - Altis, Sylphy, Forte
3. Maintenance cost - Vios, City, Jazz
4. Fuel economy - Accent CRDi, City/Jazz
5. Value for money - Mobilio, BRV (7 seats)Last edited by Egan101; October 4th, 2017 at 01:18 PM.

October 4th, 2017 07:23 PM #6I agree. City VX owner here. And I am satisfied with the purchase.
Though I have to admit that it is not the most engaging car to drive(if you are into a more sporty ride, then this car is not for you). It’s more on the relaxing side. My passengers often says that the ride is quiet and comfortable for a subcompact sedan.

If space is not an issue, get yourself a Mazda 2 or base Mazda 3. Maintenance should not be a worry with the Yojin 3 program of Mazda, free PMS for 3 years.

October 4th, 2017 08:14 PM #8Thanks for the quick responses,
I would really like to have the civic but 1m is already a stretch to my budget.
My top picks for now
1. City 1.5E, is the VX worth that 100k?
2. Mazda 2/3, which is better?
3. Jazz.
I didn't consider the vios since the 1.3E A/T is already more expensive than the city.

October 4th, 2017 08:23 PM #9Mazda will win in driving dynamics, the City is more practical. The Jazz is a hatchback alternative to the City.
Up to you. The VX will have SOME of the toys the Mazda has but the City E doesn't (Slightly better interior than the E, Paddle shifters, should help with the 'sporty' feel)
Also consider: Altis G at slightly under 1M. Loses on the sporty feel but is an even more practical choice.Last edited by mda; October 4th, 2017 at 08:31 PM.
