i would not advise a strada for a lady kasi parang mabigat dalhin, unlike kung lalake, eh swak na swak ang strada!

mam, jimny is the only mini-suv na pwede sa budget ninyo, considering you want brand new. kagaya ng sabi ni sir jpg, sa SUVic criteria, madami ang choices. there's the mini pajero (iba pa eto sa pajero io), pajero io, and the swb (short wheel base) pajero, simply called 3-door pajero. also, another additional is the suzuki vitara 1st gen. china cars like cherry tiggo is also ok, yun nga lang, china...

so your problem is you don't trust 2nd hand vehicles pala. actually, oo, problems may arise in 2nd hand vehicles. like mine, i own a 2nd hand at SUVic pa na pajero. pero being 2nd hand, it became an advantage to me. yun automotive skills ko nag-improve, naging mekaniko ako ng di ko namamalayan.

well, its up to you na po yan mam. jimny is the way to go on your budget if you want brand new...

since ayaw mo naman ng jimny, might as well get a 2nd hand gen2 rav4 or crv. maski compact sedan mahihirapan ka at 700k

if you want a brand new mini-suv, you'll probably need around 1.1-1.2M for the cheaper ones available (tucson, sportage).

how about avanza? not suv but bigger body and fits your budget.

why mini-suv in the first place? do you really need all that space? check first what you'll use it mostly for and who'll be driving most of the time.

    :offtopic:

There's nothing MINI about the Strada, is there?

And TS is looking for an SUV, which the Strada is not. :nono:

Anyway, BTT: Tiggo's were being sold for 704T, last I checked. I'm sure nagtaas pa yun since that was Oct. 2007 pa!

becauase of the Jimnys Simple suspension design. this is something you can run above gutters mga 6 inches na hindi ka matatatkot na baka masira agad.
or malubak ka ng pothole, mas matibay ang suspension design nito comapred sa mga independent suspension,

Kung out of town weekend mga 80 to 100 lang ang ideal speed niya, more that a hundred mataas na RPM

sa Parking lot at masisikip na area maapreciate mo talaga ang advantage ng small car

When we say it's unrefined, it means that the Jimny will ride a little worse over potholes than a car. It has both front-and-rear live axles... the only other SUV on the market with this... heck... probably the only other "car" on the market like it... is the Nissan Patrol, which costs about five to six Jimnys...

A live axle is great for off-roading... it's tough, will resist damage from hitting rocks and tree stumps very well, and will run forever as long as you check the differential oil every year or so. But given that the left and right wheels are attached together in the same manner as on a Matchbox toy car... well... you know how bad the ride in the back of a pick-up or FX Taxi can get? The Jimny is like that.

But lower the tire pressures a bit... go slower over the humps, and it's not bad as a city car or everyday car. The high ride-height makes it a good anti-flood car. Get a snorkel and some good mud-tires and it's a terrific off-roader. Without the mud tires, at least it can climb curbs so you can park in weird places... It's small, nippy, and pretty easy to thread through traffic. And, as a bonus... it's cute... which the ladies like... and it's pretty cowboy... which the guys like. Nothing says "I'm a young, hip, person" like owning a Suzuki.

Well... a Honda Jazz does the same thing... and it's more practical and fuel-efficient... but then, it's not an SUV.

nothing to go at the 700k budget except for the Jimny and the Tiggo.
otherwise, you would really have to settle for pre-owned units like Escape, XTrail, CRV or RAV4, which i would also recommend instead of getting the brand new Jimny or the Tiggo.

get something at the 500k range and leave the rest for repairs and accessories.

first car ba? if so, follow this logic:

first car = bump car >> get a 2nd hand compact (corolla, lancer, sentra) na manual (save money, learn manual driving, and maintenance at the same time - saan ka pa!)

kapag marunong ka na talaga and nakaipon na ulit, get the car that you really like (but by this time, mahihirapan ka nang pakawalan yung una because of sentimental value hahaha). subcompact (jazz, vios, city, swift) or short vehicle (jimny) na matic sobrang dali na i-drive at this point

    Tama ka, brod!

This is my wife's bump car (used) na mamanahin ko kapag magaling-galing na siyang mag-drive

Pinalaki ko tires kasi ayaw niya ng girly-girly
