if i were buying at that price point, would definitely get a kia sportage diesel or hyundai tucson.. dami parts ng dalawa na yan diesel pa and proven reliable na din..

although out of topic, i will also consider a base AT pick-up!

definitely will not buy a subaru.. hehe not that i hate the brand.. actually i like the design, engine and AWD platform, but the parts are hard to source and cost an arm and a leg.. like to DIY din kasi and i dont like to rely on casa every maintenance or repairs.. yung isang kakilala ko, when he was buying a 2nd hand crossover, naka bili sya ng XV.. sabi nya medyo nagsisisi daw sya at magastos.. recent nasira is the radiator, pumutok daw yung top plastic housing na sabi ng shops eh common daw sa subaru

If you don't know where to find the parts and just rely on casa or other shops sure. For example, I asked casa for lower control arm bushings, they quoted 7k. I managed to grab those parts for less than 2k just by asking around in the FB group.

If you own a Subaru, kailangan lang medyo madiskarte haha. Also... SHOPEE. Nandun na halos lahat, promise. 😂

With the radiator cracking, yeah I saw some owners having theirs leak. But I've seen replacement aluminum radiators being sold around 14k. Replacement non Subaru plastic ones cost around 5k to 6k.

To illustrate my point what happens when a car manufacturer pulls out of the local market, I found a thread here about the Fiat Uno- its a depressing read.

when i got my first car (a 1973 ford escort that used to be a taxi), i somehow came up with the fixin' money.
but there were no parts to buy!
ford phils had just pulled out of the country.
wala pang lazada or shoppee noon, and certainly no consumer internet.

one day, during my weekend forays for parts, the shopkeeper had finished saying the now-familiar "wala po" to me,
he turned to the next costumer, listened to the part needed, and replied,
"original o taiwan? harap o likod? kaliwa o kanan? ilan gusto mo?"

then and there, i swore that my next car won't have parts issues.

yung unang tingin palang sa parts sample na dala mo, sagot agad na "wala kami nyan"

or kung tingnan man yung part na dala mo, tatanong nila "pang anong sasakyan ito sir"

pag sabi mo ng brand, mabilis aabot pabalik sayo yung pyesa sabay sabi "wala kami nyan ever..."

pero now, laking tulong ng internet at shopee lazada.. sana mas madami local suppliers for these parts..

once, the aux fan of my 2003 cedia died.
the oem cost 8500 bucks.
we got a circuit brand worth 950 bucks. kaunting masahe dito.. doon.. tabas.. perfect fit!

and because, i believe, many choose low cost and reliability, real or imagined,
toyota is king.

I think the Innova ticks all 3. Di mo naman nilagay s3x appeal sa criteria which is the one thing the Innova lacks.

Honda City also for sedans. Super good value car, cheap maintenance, highly reliable, and performance is actually as sprightly as a 1.8L Civic (similar power to weight ratio)

madami din ang gusto lang may kotse pero walang alam sa proper maintenance.. kahapon lang, bumibili ako ng longgu.. may kasabay ako naka captiva..

bumili din 2 front tires.. pero yung suspension arm nya, wala na bushing.. as in kalog na kalog na yung harap.. kitang kita na yung pag move ng suspension back and forth... kung ako yun di ko na itatakbo yung sasakyan eh.. pero si kuya ok lang sa kanya larga pa din.. hehe
