When I first forayed into car audio, the list of equipment was of utmost importance for me. After investing 3 years of my life trying to know all there is about this hobby, I am paying more attention on installation over anything else. Truth is, equipment plays a small part on how great a system sounds. It helps.. but not a necessity. Winning competitions is 90% installation, tuning, fine tweaking, etc. while the 10% is the equipment. This means your typical 60k setup can down 300k behemoths as long as you plan and tune it correctly.
But since you can't fine tune your system without the use of proper tuning tools, the 10% equipment suddenly balloons up to 50% for most typical consumers. Personally, I'll jump on the price difference. It's not a lot naman and it's like insurance - it gives you peace of mind. But from a performance perspective, I wouldn't.
Of course, ask any installer and they'll urge you to splurge more ;)Last edited by jhnkvn; April 30th, 2013 at 02:40 AM.

April 30th, 2013 07:04 PM #596i'm looking for a cheap 1 DIN head unit..
I've been browsing through sulit to find a good deal.. gusto ko sana yung may Bluetooth para walang hassle with connecting my tab and phone..
so far parang di abot sa budget...
I went to SM appliance and saw some pioneer car stereo.. and naka kita ako ng MVH-155UI for 3.5k pero pwede ko zero interest installment for six months..
or maybe someone can point me to a store that offers more bluetooth car stereos that offers zero interest installment.. sa blade okay?

Truth be told, because audio is subjective, there's no such thing as "bang per buck" speakers. This is why nobody has ever ridden in my car blindfolded and guessed correctly which speakers I'm using. Of course, once you begin shouting five-digit price tags of your equipment, suddenly people's perception of your system shoots through the roof. This is because for most, money = better. Sadly, this isn't the case in reality.
Go for the JBLs. You also have the insurance that you're purchasing a speaker that came from the R&D efforts of Harman Group.
