audio set-up for beginners [continued]

Planning to upgrade the sound system of a 2014 altis 1.6v... thinking of getting focal seps (access 165 2 way), an amp, sound deadening for the front doors.. thinking of recycling my old boston rally sub, but would be needing a new box.

Have a budget of around 30-35k for phase1.. Could you recommend an amp, and would this sound good using the stock hu...

Toying with changing hu to a pioneer 5650 dvd player but nanghihinayang ako since bago pa yung hu... baka phase 2 na lang

Thinking of getting a jbl 5 chnl amp but installers i called are saying mag 4 way nalang. 3 installers recommended different brands, one yung gladden for 9.6k, another yung rf punch for 12k. The 3rd recommended a mosconi for less than 12k but suggested i get the focal flax 165 for 15k, pero palitan ko daw muna yung hu.

Not familiar with the gladen... any feedback on these?

Am confused... appreciate opinion kung
A. Get the focal flax and pioneer hu 5650 plus sound deadening.. (eventually get the amp plus reuse the sub)
B. Get the focal access plus ??? Amp, sound deadening and reuse thesub... ( and what amp to get)

Appreciate your thoughts. My current ride is a fd with infinity seps, jbl 4 chnl amp (gto na orange) and the boston rally sub in an oversized sealed box.

I would suggest a step by step upgrade so you would enjoy the difference for every change in your system. Like go with the Seps first and deadening for Phase 1.(Focal seps are very easy to power with an HU). Phase 2 add an amp and so on. If you are not keen on changing the HU, an alternative is to get an external processor to keep the OEM look. I am doing the same on my car.(Progress found in Kotseaudioclub )

Regarding the brands, gladen bought the mosconi/audio system brands wherein he rebrands their amps. mosconi, most of the time matches very well with focal, but there are some certain pairings that does not sound well. Ask your installer which one he recommends because most of the time, that's the pairing he has experience with and has quite some success with it.

On your choices, I choose A. I experienced Flax. It's very different from the previous Focals of yore but retaining the qualities we love on that brand but probably hold off the HU upgrade first as I stated in the first paragraph.

By the way, I also own the current-gen 1.6 Altis. IMO, The stock system does not sound that bad. I would actually rate it a lot better than my CRV's and Montero Sport. Try to break it in first to hear it improve.

Hi mga sirs, I will be getting the Vios j 1.3 m/t, I know that this model's audio isn't that good, 2 lang speakers, any suggestions on how can I improve it? Kahit pa unti unti muna... How about kung upgrade ko muna ang speakers?

That will work sir. But installation is very important. May kilala ako, who upgraded his stock speakers, and since it was bit larger than stock, and no mounting adjustments were made, it sounded worse.

For speakers, choose high sensitivity ones so your HU can power it easily.

i want to improve stock audio setup of my navara 2010 but i want it to be done in phases. should i begin looking for HU or start with speakers muna? any good shop that you can recommend within binan? tia

Regarding the brand, depende po sir sa budget and also your preferred sonic character. Most HUs should be able to accomodate 4 channels, but if I were you, forego the plan of installing rear speakers coz the stage should be infront to add realism. Parang when someone sings, the voice comes from the front and not around the cabin which makes it confusing.

Not familiar din sir on the audio dynamics brand, and syempre if you are getting a new car, get a new set of speakers that your brand new car deserves

Each has its own advantages. What do you find lacking on your system now? A good installer I know fom the South is Bluprint/Musico from Paranaque.

ay sir, sorry bigla ako na confuse sa advise mo, gusto ko lang I clarify, the vios e (yung sumunod na model ng j) has 4 speakers, di ba mas maganda at malakas ang tunog na apat kesa sa 2 lang? so you mean, ok lang yung 2 sa front at wag ko na dagdagan ng 2 pa gaya ng vios e model? TIA
