for casual listening levels, pwede na yung HU to power your seps. pero once na i-angat mo yung volume, the audio will sound distorted dahil yung 4x40w power ay peak na yun. i estimate the RMS to be at around 18-20w lang kaya mabibitin yung seps mo. hindi sya full potential kumbaga. just my 2 cents.

i'm currently using a clarion radio 35w X 4. din ko na lang kinabit yung rear speakers ko na 3 way and yung kicker ko na separates. tinimpla ko na lang using yunf fader function nung HU ko. Yung amp ko kasi built in na yung xover so wala ako problem sa pag filter for my 15" freeair subs.
check mo sa manual nung HU kung may sub out yung HU mo then dun mo na lang kabit yung subs mo. itape mo na lang ng electric tape yung isang out just to be sure.

Ako rin pwede magtanong?
Have a stock Alpine TDA-7547(?) on the Corolla GLi 98. Already got an AiNet changer CHA-S624. Speakers are still stock, and no amp yet.
During installation I discovered my HU has only one set of pre-outs for rear.
Was going for the basic setup for clarity and SQ only, so I was originally planning on HU-AMP-satellites and 1 sub. I originally intended to retain my HU and spend on other stuff like speakers and amps, kasi gumagana pa naman.
Now since I only have one set of pre-outs, which is more advisable: a) replace the HU with a newer model with 2 or more preouts, or b) retain the HU and buy a x-over to handle the separation (pwede ba ito?)
One constraint: I do not have a deep pocket, but would like to spend on quality products.
Thanks in advance.
It would be cheaper if you just buy the crossover, pwede din naman ito kung ok pa yung HU mo. the only advantage of getting a head unit is mas mataas na siguro yung output nung HU mo for the speakers and meron na sub out yung ibang HU. why don't u try to trade-in your old radio for a newer model. baka pareho lang gagastusin mo than getting a crossover.

Thanks Kicker15!
I was able to scour the 'net for spec sheets of the TDA-7547. The RMS output is something like 15Wx4, max at 35Wx4. (PParado, this might give you a clue on what sort of speaker is best if connected directly to the HU.)
On the other end, I found drivers that have spec sheets specifying a range of amp output, so pparado, check out the spec sheet of the speaker you're getting to find out if its recommended amp power is within the range of your amp or HU.
Naisip ko if I get a crossover tapos nasira na yung HU ko, then I will get a new HU na malamang kumpleto na, di na magamit na yung crossover.
Anyway isip isip muna. Baka November pa naman para sa US bili.Last edited by the_wildthing; July 27th, 2004 at 05:02 PM.

I think I will take ssaloon's advise also.
I will retain the stock speakers first, connected to the HU directly. I will just use the preouts to connect to an amp then a sub, to add more bass. I will check how it sounds first.
Puwede ba 1 sub na lang, mga 8 or 10in? Wala naman distinction ang human ear sa low frequency ng left or right, tapos enclosed space naman ang kotse.Last edited by the_wildthing; July 27th, 2004 at 05:22 PM.

madami din naman yung gumagamit nung single sub kaya ok din lang. kung may space ka naman i prefer the 10"

the_wildthing::: pwede! ako gamit ko 10" sub lang in a 0.98 cu. ft box (sealed). i'm very satisfied with the bass. soft and ummpf enough for alternative tracks, gapang na rin for hip-hop/R&B tunes
