what happens naman if i bought separates na may kasamang crossover. And then connect that to an amp which has a built-in crossover. So mangyayari dalawang crossovers? What happens now?
Lahat ng separates may passive crossover, from the amp hook up the speaker wires to the passive crossover, from the passive crossover you hook up the midbass and the tweets. The main function of the passive crossover is the separate the Hi's to the tweets and Mid's to the Midbass.

ah ok clear na lahat! except for one, final question that's still bugging me (i hope you still have the patience).. ano po yung kung tawagin nila ay....

    ACTIVE XO's?

  4. #344
Oks lang pare ko. I'll try to answer this one correct me if am wrong gurus.

Active XOver separates frequencies for different channels, example in a 5-channel amp channel 1 & 2 for the front separates - highs and mids, channel 3 & 4 for the rear fill - lows, channel 5 for the Subwoofer - Lows. Halos lahat ng amp sa market may build in Xover but if you want more control get an separate xover however if your getting a V12 amp forget about getting a separate xover.

I luv detailing why forget about separate crossover if you are using a V12 amp?

  7. #347
Because the sound filtering of a V12 amp isn't very good, di clear mga signals so it won't help installing a active crossover. di accurate mga adjustments. but if your getting a good amplifier with crisp signals thats another story.

set-up suggestions naman for my 260e o!

My plan is to get a blau indianapolis as HU.

Balak kong setup ganito: i'll have the HU power the front coaxials, then the amp to power the rear (to compensate for the sub).

First of all what car are you setting up?

My plan is to get a blau indianapolis as HU. (pero kung kinapos, baka pioneer na lang)
    Get the Pioneer.

Sa front speakers, 4" coax. Ano ok na brand? Patusin ko na ba yung targa?
Get a pair of separates for the front, you won't regret it. Lots of choices: Targa, Crystal, JBL, DLS, Focal, Kicker. Your best bet would be a Targa, Crystal, JBL or DLS with DLS being the pricey one. JBLs are hard to find these days. Targas are cheap and relatively good but its is on the "makalansing" side (TX series). Crystal is also good but also hard to find. DLS is also good but not cheap, still available in banawe. It all boils down to how much your willing to spend and your ears... audition different setups, it can make your decision easier.

Get a pair of Coaxial Speakers, don't need separates as rearfills sayang lang pera. Again your choices - Targa, Crystal, JBL, DLS.

Get a 4-channel amp, better if you can find a 5-channel amp. There are lots of 2nd hand old school amps available, just have to be resourcefull in finding them.

Sa subs, dunno kung lagyan ko pa. Baka ayaw ni erpats eh.
Whats a sound system without bass? You'll appreciate it, trust me.

Balak kong setup ganito: i'll have the HU power the front coaxials, then the amp to power the rear (to compensate for the sub). Tama ba gagawin ko?
There won't be enough juice to power your speakers if you use your HU, mabibitin lang, sayang component speakers mo. Get a 4-Channel Amp, use the 1st 2 channels to power the seps, then bridge the 3rd and 4th channel for the subs. Kahit wala munang rearfill. If you have more moolah, get another 2-channel amp for the rearfill.

Actually you can put separates or coaxials as rearfills doesn't matter, but am suggesting you get coaxials rearfills because its cheaper. Since you'll play lows in the rearfill a coax will be enough.
