July 25th, 2024 10:28 AM #35In the old days I'd wrap the sensitive parts (i.e. alternator, ignition coil and distributor...) and hose away, but with today's engines, it's too risky. You never know ano yung mababasa mo. Just a damp wet rag lang talaga na rin is the safest solution.
Toyota Otis offers an engine detailing service, but I never availed of it....

July 25th, 2024 12:06 PM #37Otis is the only Toyota casa I know of that allows you to watch your unit being serviced, given their open garage/lifter setup. Di gaya sa iba where you wait in a lounge, blissfully unaware if what they claim to have done was actually done on your unit.
Anyways, I'm not a fan of casa services. Usually up to the free service charge periods lang, then it's on my own, but following the manual's recommended service intervals.

July 25th, 2024 04:01 PM #39Simple lang naman gawin kasi ang usual na PMS procedures (change oil, tune up, etc.)
I wonder how that will change when we switch over to hybrid engines and electric vehicles in the future though...
Palagay ko matagal-tagal pa naman ang lifespan ng mga internal combustion engines though, lalo na dito sa 3rd world.
Anyone here remember how LPG powered cars & LPG stations fared just a few years back? People hated them (including the taxi drivers themselves).
