pre, yung naka kulay talong sa taas na iminungkahi ko kagabi nung sinabi mo na cleaner carnauba + 915 ang gagawin mo.
wax over wax would be completed a lot sooner before wax over KAIO. but since madkatz suggested 4 hours KAIO cure time, you wouldn't be delayed as much as my presumption of 12-24 hours KAIO cure time.

October 16th, 2010 01:20 AM #86SwirlX is more abrasive than Step 1, both are abrasive but with Step 1 its close to being not at all making Step 1 very safe to be used frequently but i won't recommend using it twice a month
SwirlX is a lot more abrasive and it can already go some light to moderate correction depending on the pad and machine used, by hand it can tackle most of the light swirls on the paint and light watermarks as well
so to answer your question which is better it would depend on what your goal is. are you planning on removing swirls? or just creating a clean finish for the sealant to bond properly?
if you want protection in most cases its true that you go for a sealant but there are also some waxes out there that can outperform some weaker sealants, 476 is one of the better known waxes to kick most of the weaker sealants butts, KSG layered twice can already provide some serious protection however i really find it pointless in most cases to layer over 3 and more of a specific sealant, there are some sealants however that can really build up both these are not yet available locally
as with the shine statement, its a very general term, do you want the mirror finish? or the wet and deep look? sealants can also provide a very shiny finish depending on what you use, most of them are sterile however giving them that plastic and glassy look, some prefer their paint to look darker and deeper than reflective so it depends on your choice, but just so you know any choice whether depth or reflectivity, sealants can still achieve those, you just need to know which one gives the look you want
but the best look for me is that from sealants and waxes combined, meaning multiple layers of sealants topped with multiple layers of waxes really create that look that combines the best of both but multiple layers of sealants waxes is actually mostly good for just looks, like i said sometimes its pointless to layer more than 2 meaning 3 above of sealants and waxes save for the exception of some

October 16th, 2010 01:22 AM #87I would recommend you have both on hand, have a smaller bottle for the 4:1 however since you won't be likely to use this too much, 10:1 is already sufficient in most cases to remove residues from the pads especially if its attached to a rotary polisher, but there are some cases like some of the older megs polishes and waxes that really require degreasers to remove from pads

October 16th, 2010 01:25 AM #88actually i would say 205 is a lot more like m80 without all the fuzz and hassle, honestly m80 gives a wetter finish compared to 205 but 205 finishes clearer, now if you have a non oil-based glaze topped on top of 205 now thats a winner.
m80 isn't that bad actually, it really darkens the paint in most cases but its really just finicky, sometimes you even end up with holograms even with a Grey LC, 205 is a lot more easier to work with and also finishes clearer but makes the paint a little sterile, somewhat a plastic look

October 16th, 2010 01:33 AM #90actually 2 layers should already be enough if you're planning on maintaining it with waxes weekly, don't spend too much on multiple layers if its gonna be well kept and maintained, just try to save the product so you get more results longer with the bottle, actually if someone waxes his car weekly heck even NXT, Gold Class, TW PUG and Moms Step 3 and FX would already do the job. try to make the sealant work for you, keep it simple with 2 layers and then just relayer after a few months
layering multiple sealant won't really guarantee you a perfect finish from the elements, check out my post last december when i had a multiple layer of sealants 2 layers m-seal and 2 layers KSG topped with 2 layers 915 and blitz acrylic spray sealant as topper, after i finished that setup i went to canyon woods feeling like nothing would harm my paint, then comes those pine tree saps that really etched into my paint, now if you think of it, i had a total of 7 layers all cured properly and boosted with polycharger and the tree saps still etched through, kinda hurts right? all the effort down the drain? thats why im telling you guys to keep it simple, 2 is enough, 2 more of another sealant would be great but if time is a problem with layering multiple layers then why work against time right? why not just apply it more frequently? all im saying is, if time and schedule really makes layering hard for you then just change your routine, you really don't have to do multiple layers especially since you're waxing already every week
