July 20th, 2010 02:10 AM #5764if you have collinite on top of NXT then it should last longer, Moms and Megs Step 1 are both great pre-wax cleaners, Collinite liquid sapphite is also good just be sure to take the pure cleaner one, clay can also remove those contaminants that pre-wax cleaner can remove but the tricky thing is especially for beginners is when they leave clay residue behind, but once a person it taught how to clay properly claying should already be enough

July 20th, 2010 02:17 AM #5765Yes paint cleaner first then AG SRP and then wait for 1 hour then m21 and then 12 hours and then NXT, and yes you can use the car when you finish with m21, just be sure to wash it again before you apply NXT and just pray that it doesn't rain during the 12 hour curing time of m21, m21 actually cures a lot faster, KSG cures for 24 hours. if they don't have Megs cleaner wax then its ok, actually after using swirlX you could proceed to SRP already since swirlX can also be considered as a cleaner, and yeah claykit can be used to clean paint as well to make SRP and m21 bond properly, clays aren't paint cleaners but it does the same job of cleaner the paint, so if you already have a clay kit then you don't need a prewax cleaner, or if you've just finished with swirlX you could go directly to SRP

July 20th, 2010 02:20 AM #5768well even if you use a cleaning QD on your paint you still can't get it 100% clean so you're better off with a pre-wax cleaner or a clay bar, claybars a more expensive but its well worth it, prewax cleaners are really cheap actually mothers has one for less than 500 i think, if you're thinking about using a QD for cleaning the paint you're better off using 50:50 dilution of isopropyl alcohol to clean the paint, thats what we use to remove oils from polishes to check if the correction has been or just filled

July 20th, 2010 02:58 AM #5770*jmpet626: heres the link to my post
http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...t-bonding.html
i actually feel like i didn't get my answer regarding the topic but anyways, see we've just tested some glazes topped with KSG and we noticed that it does in a noticeable way affect the sealants durability, so i was asking for the good ones and i didn't quite get my answer but anyways, i found my answer from our mentor he recommended an acrylic glaze he said he'll ship over to us from the US its a purely acrylic glaze that makes KSG and polymers bond to it properly, its one of the few glazes that doesn't have any oils in it, but it costs a damn 150$ for 64oz but we're taking the bite since we can pay him later at September. and PB blackhole also works great on sealants so far, but we're still on the 6th week mark of checking its effect on KSG, i just hope it can last longer and not affect KSG at all so far all other glazes with KSG have already died down on beading and shine and right now only PB blackhole stands strong
also regarding the scratches, remember the hoods you guys used to practice rotary buffing? i've already tried wet sanding the thing and buffing it out again but it still has swirls in it, and if you look close enough i think its like the panel has been paint and then swirled and then painted again with clear coat because no matter how many times we compound the panel the same scratches always appear, so right now we're ruling out surface defect it looks like a painting defect already i think the painter got lazy and just sprayed on some clear coat without properly checking if the surface was swirl free before wet sanding the panel and laying the CC
