June 18th, 2005 01:03 AM #551this thought just occurred to me: while driving, do you find yourselves looking at other cars and observing their shine / depth? sometimes I see cars that have horrendous swirls even though they look freshly waxed / cleaned. or cars that are top of the line but look neglected even before the rainy season
Pero mas malala pa pala kayong lahat sakin. Hehehe. BTW, may nahanap na akong hawakan sa trunk ko. Yung plastic lense na part ng rear lights! Heheheh. Sobrang saya ko.
Tsinita: Hehehe. Wala namang ganyanan. I hope you you never see my car. Ehehehe.
BTW, I was once very neglectful of my previous car. (1998 Civic Silver). I only had it properl washed every other month (normally, it was just wet wiped by our friendly office parking lot lurker/car "washer" for a small fee) and never waxed but I never thought of it as dirty enough that I could not stand it. Now, whenever I see even a small bit of dust, fallen leaves, pollen, or bird poo, I want to wash the car immediately. I'm really thankful for my calcar duster. Heheheh.

Patopig: Maybe you can detail your old civic and see if you can bring it back to its shine.
Next year am targeting on getting the Rotary, have a couple of cars here to practice it on. hehehe.

Btw, I found a paintshop in Las Pinas selling tinge Megs DACP, #26, 3M Perfect-It III Rubbing Compound and Machine glaze. I was actually looking for 3m waffle pads but they said they ran out of stock long ago... They do have some megs 8" pads (red, this is the aggresive pad right?).
Would this work with my B&D if I put velcros in the backing plate?
Also, I'm gonna try the 3m Perfect It III combo (RC+MG) on an older car (lots of light scratches). I did buy some DACP.. Mmmm. Smells like almonds.

Tsinita: Wow! Nice work! Detailing expert ka rin yata eh. hehehehe.
ILD: Nabenta last year. Hehehe. I am planning to restore the paint of my dad's 98 GSR and we also have my sister's 2001 Civic. All of them have a lot of marring. Fully booked na weekends ko. hehehehe.

took this when i got home. so mejo palubog ang araw. the upper part is where i made my "boo-boo" with the rubbing compound. I know i know i shouldn't have... i just wanted to experience it myself so i used the rubbing compound we have here and it was a total nightmare. hahaha i ended up having a white spot thing sa may wipers. (kaya nde ko na picture yun hahaha) Grabe ha, ngayon nakita ko yung mga swirl marks. amfanget. ayaw ko na.
you guys were right, it is a nice feeling once you're done. Actually kahit gabi na tinitingnan ko pa den sha sa labas kanina. Tas i kept on yelling for my mom to look at it. ahahaha This is all your fault!! now i want to buy better products and do it all over again! hahaha yung lang share ko lang.
mga gurus, ano grade ko?

Finally nag post din si ts1n1ta ng pics (sayang no skirt  ), welcome to the wonderfull world of detailing. As you go along you'll discover many things, your senses will improve, you'll see even the smallest sratch and your day won't be complete without applying some compound on that scratch atleast to hide it. You'll be miserable when it rains and your newly detailed car gets wet, you'll smile when you see your car all shiney, you'll be more carefull when driving because you don't want anyone sratchign your car...
