It is not because we have an EO that would make the local parts manufacturers more competitive abroad. It is because the local part manufacturers are simply not competitive enough, that is why they can't sell abroad.

If they are competitive to other parts suppliers abroad, they would already have been exporting their stuff years ago. Unfortunately that is not the case.

Our problems are many. Expensive labor, expensive yet unreliable power, corrupt officials creating too many red tape, too many taxes & fees at every legal step, inefficient transport, restrictive local government units, the need to "lubricate" certain people to make documents move.

No degree of positive thinking is going to change what is already a society that is rotten right down to the core.

The past decades has simply and clearly shown that the Filipino people is not a society mature enough to handle democracy. The experiences in the past decades has shown that the Filipino people is a society that needs to be lead by the nose by a single brilliant and influential strongman in a dictatorship.

After over five decades having declared our independence from the USA, the only automotive related items we are exporting are wiring harnesses and rims.

Isn't that more pathetic than positive thinking? Other countries already have developed local designed and manufactured cars, yet here we are... just exporting wiring harnesses and rims.

Dude , Yazaki Torres is the largest wiring harness manufacturer in the region! That is definitely something to be proud of no matter what you say.
