Our problems are many. Expensive labor, expensive yet unreliable power, corrupt officials creating too many red tape, too many taxes & fees at every legal step, inefficient transport, restrictive local government units, the need to "lubricate" certain people to make documents move.

No degree of positive thinking is going to change what is already a society that is rotten right down to the core.

The past decades has simply and clearly shown that the Filipino people is not a society mature enough to handle democracy. The experiences in the past decades has shown that the Filipino people is a society that needs to be lead by the nose by a single brilliant and influential strongman in a dictatorship.
akala ko we're eksporting wire harnesses and rims na.

    wala palang positive thinking eto.

After over five decades having declared our independence from the USA, the only automotive related items we are exporting are wiring harnesses and rims.

Isn't that more pathetic than positive thinking? Other countries already have developed local designed and manufactured cars, yet here we are... just exporting wiring harnesses and rims.

the parts manufacturers say they will benefit from new MVDP

well, that is IF automakers put up more manufacturing facilities here to produce more cars locally and buy parts from the local parts manufacturers

    that's a big IF

which means we are competetive with these 2 products. positive thinking can help us make more of these(exportable, competetive products), diba. pathetic yan dahil sa negative thinking mo. good start yan dahil sa positive mentality nung manufacturer.

    oo, pwede sila mag-export

ang tanong ko: kung nag-e-export sila, why are their members either out of business or operating at less-than-half capacity?

    quoting the article:
"This will be a big boost to us, considering that most of our members have either closed shop or scaled down production volumes," Villareal said.
Villareal said those who survive operate at only about 40 percent of their rated plant capacities.
if there's foreign demand for their products, they should be doing well even without local demand

    but they're not doing well

their members are either dead or half-dead according to the article

so that means there's neither foreign demand nor local demand

that's why all they do is wait for govt help

    like GH said, it's pathetic

"This opens up for us an entirely new avenue for business opportunities. EO 877 will give us an export incentive package that will encourage greater participation, better quality products and product diversification for entrepreneurs like us to break into the export market and grow exponentially," Villareal said.
    ^^

    break into the export market?

what were they doing all these years?

why havent they broken into the export market years ago?

they need govt help to break into the export market

if they were competitive, they wouldnt need govt help in the first place

Dude , Yazaki Torres is the largest wiring harness manufacturer in the region! That is definitely something to be proud of no matter what you say.
