my bro who helped me install says it's no problem. the second option was putting it after (infront) the engine radiator. but since, we didn't install there. we can't support that with evidence...
so far, the radiator hose we used are fine. I think the radiator engine is still hotter than intercooler... maybe....
the hoses in pajero are not bendable. they are preset to bend like that permanently. though you can bend them just a little bit.
just measured again the intercooler because I'm not confident in my memory...
incase, you are interested in pajero 1st-2nd gen intercoolers...
the 2.5 inch in 2nd gen height has 3 inch height in the opposite labeled side...
the 18 inch is actualy 16.5 and the 18 inch removable pipe is 14 inch...
the 16.5 inch in 2nd gen is 14 inch in 1st gen and 10 inch remains 10 inch.
you might want to consider intercooler from emina or sportage if fittings are perfect for your vehicle... in my case, Pajero intercooler is the only available here...

I am not sure any intercooler puwede... but they say "the bigger intercooler, the better..." I just know emina and sportage surplus are atleast 2.2L engines... should consider pressure drop too. even a longer piping could cause drops...
a little bit pressure drop is acceptable or better. but too much is bad...
the van consumes 8 km/l - 8.5 km/l on mixed city and highway w/aircon 2-3 people load. max 80kph (but the measurements are not relevant. I live far south in the philippines) but the installation really improve consumption and power, that's for sure... if installed perfectly... you will be amazed in climbing uphill...
but I guess, you can't compare it if you have the tranny converted...

if only may mapupuntahan ako na shop where i can put-up/hooked ung "diagnostics port" nito(engine scanner ba yun)..

you have a point sir m_ron. buti nalang hindi intercooler/turbo tunning yung thread title...
sir yummy, may diag port din yung amin.. may PCMSCAN & ProScan full version and Engine Analyzer Pro ako, peru wala pa akong pc port sa ngayon, I'm waiting my bro to get back to U.S to buy me one...
though I hear that the ace diags would only give you data related to the petrol engine management & TEMS.
but I want to try despite it... and all other vehicles I will encounter....
just PM me kung interesado ka sa software...Last edited by rion; April 14th, 2007 at 04:30 PM.
