My pitstop at Mang Mario this morning. The shitty ducts of the shitty a/c finally gave way and no air was available on the side vents.
Circa 70's or 80's aftermarket a/c system:

Flexi-ducts just like on converted vehicles except these ones are rotten and just held on by packing tape. hehe:

Dapat yun A/C shop yun lagayan ng freon maganda, ayaw ko kung yun freon tank eh sira sira na Meron mga kalawang na bumibili Lang ng tingi, Kasi yun bagong A/C shop na pinapagawan ko bago Parati yun freon sila San den yun brand then naka sealed pa ng plastic yun tank, Ewan ko kung Ilan kilo yun Isang maliit na tank na ganun parang mas maliit yata or Pareho size ng LPG tank na maliliit.
Turn off na ako Sa lagayan na bulok Kasi tingi tingi bumili ng freon yun ganun shop

I read the last post from 90-105 before ako magpost.
I want to share my experience to Mang Mario.
1st experience to Mang Mario is a few years back when I have a liteace van. Hinanap ko yung place nya and pagdating ko, hinanap ko agad si Famous Mang Mario and introduce myself as a member of this forum. Medyo Busy sya that time but he immediately order one of his technician to check my van kahit my ginagawa sila. Nagpaikot ikot yung technician, my kinalikot at napagana nya yung blower and my konting lamig na yung van ko. Great thing kasi sa iba kung ano ano yung sinasabi at dapat palitan. sabi hindi daw gagana yung blower at may dapat palitan and need na din linisin. But kay mang mario, may kinalikot lang and my AC na. Yun lang Hindi sya kalamigan and hindi ako talaga satisfied sa lamig. but sabi ganun daw talaga ang liteace and mahina lang talaga yung blower. Di din daw kailangan pang linisan kasi malinis pa. When I asked for the charge, bigyan ko lang daw ng pan-lason yung techncian (since wala naman talagang ginawa at 5min lang kinabit yung wiring)
Nagbigay ako ng P50 for mirienda. --> I'm a satisfied customer.
2nd Experience: My nakuha akong L200 pickup.
Dinala ko na yung pickup sa shop sa laguna and my lamig na sya. kapag gabi giginawin ka but sa umaga, mahina yung blower and sobrang hindi na nalalamigan yung sa likod. I went to mang mario to have it check and ask for his suggestion. Pagdating ko dun, binuksan yung AC at sabi ganun daw talaga ang sakit ng L200. Mahina ang blower. (medyo familiar kasi ganun din sinabi nya sa Liteace ko) The technician removed yung filter sa aircon and partially lumakas yung blower. Mas pinili ko na tanggalin na yung blower lumakas lang kahit konti yung AC ko. Wala nang massuggest si mang mario na other alternative how to Improve yung AC ng pick up ko. Ang sinabi nya my ginagawa daw sila dun sa ilalim, sa blower part ata yun on which pinapalaki nila yung butas para lumakas yung buga ng blower but that will only increase 10-20%. plus nid kargahan ulit ng freon kasi babaklasin nila yung ac. That time wala din talaga pa ako money so I settled with still a poor AC.
Bigay lang ulit ako pang mirienda sa technician na nagtanggal ng filter ko. --> Somewhat satisfied pa rin

I met this guy who owns L200 din and pinaconvert nya daw sa hanging type yung kanya. Mawawala lang yung switch that directs the air if sa windshield or sa paa or direct lang sa tao. Sa wakas merong nagbigay ng Idea sakin. Since no 4 na din lang sa blower yung gumagana sa AC ko and I know magiging mainit na naman dis summer. Pinag-ipunan ko na yung pampaayos ng AC ko.
3rd Experience: Mar 15 2012 L200 pickup
Di ko inagahan kasi i know na kahit agahan mo matatagalan ka pa din. Dumating ako 11am ata yun. Wala ng tanong tanong, sinabi ko na kay mang mario yung gusto kong mangyari. Having a mindset na I just need to increase my blower para umabot sa likod and I know lalamig na L200 ko. So nagcompute si Mam and P8500 agad yung bigay nya for a replacement ng Bnew Evaporator set. TUmawad ako at sabi ko yung tinanungan ko 8k lang, so sabi ko dapat mas mura sa inyo. Binigay nya ng P7800 Kasama na daw lahat and labor. Tinanong ko si mam kung anong brand yung ikakabit nila, she answered inderectly and japan daw ikakabit nila. Pagdating ng pyesa, wala akong nakitang japan but rather china or rather walang brand. Binaklas for the 1st time yung dash ko and muntik pang di matapos that day. Nakabit naman bago mag 4pm. Tapos sinagest na palitan ko na rin yung drier. Pwede pa naman ata at di naman sinuggest ni mang mario na palitan ko, but since nag-invest na ko at gusto ko ng makatikim ng super cool AC. I agreed to change it as well. Balik P8500 kami kasama drier. Habang tinetest ko pa lang yung lamig Sumingaw agad yung tubo malapit sa drier. B-in-ypass nila yung outlet dun, parang saksakan ata ng hose yun. hininang nila at isinara. I don't know its use so pumayag na din ako.
Naachive ko yung lakas ng blower na hinahanap ko, but on my observation mas humina yung lamig compare sa dati (isip ko baka konti un freon na nilagay, to think hapon na yun and wala ng araw so dapat madali na lumamig yung AC). (When I asked ang sagot ulit ng technician: ganun daw talaga yun and lalamig pa.)
Verdict: I'm really not satisfied with my investment. I was hoping for more or even mamaintain lang yung dating lamig. But since hindi ko pa talaga naoobserbahan, I can't give a final verdict. Di ko din naman masabi if my kakulangan sila. I left there having the mindset na sana masatisfied ako the next day sa new AC ko.
The thing is nagamit ko lang sya for a few days. 3-4 times ata. Paguwi ko ng calamba, gininaw yung pasahero ko, but pagbalik namin ng manila that night, wala nag lamig yung AC. nakabalik ako 3 days after pa. I thought my naglose lang na wire.
Back Job 1:
So I went there with only 30min to spare. Pagdating ko, my ginagawa yung nagkabit ng evaporator ko (umuwi agad sya bago ko nakaalis last time so di ko sya nabigyan ng tip, I'm wondering if kaya di nya ko inassist kc wala akong tip sa kanya last time. ). so Pinasa nya ako sa isang technician.
I appreaciate this guy kc what I thought a simple job is ginawa nya lahat. Leak test and tinanggal nya yung glove compartment ko to see if may leak. Ayun, my bubbles daw sa ilalim, after 1hour. Kinargahan ulit ng freon and My lamig na ulit!
I ask the guy if my damage ako, and I'm so happy to hear na wala daw. Lumamig ulit ac ko, still di pa din kasing lamig ng dati--> Still satisfied pa din.
Nagamit ko sya 2 times that week. After that Holy week na yun so 1 week mahigit kong di nagamit yung sasakyan. Pagbalik namin from vacation. Wala na namang lamig yung AC. Nagagalit na nga si misis at sabi dapat di ko na lang pinagawa, di namin naexperience to before.
Back Job 2:
Ilang days din ako nagtiis ng walang AC before ako makabalik sa kanila. pagdating ko that day around 4pm. wala ng customer, hesitant na ako asikasuhin ng mga tao dun (4 Technician silang available dun). Alam ko 5pm pa sarado nila and wala namang tao so dapat ample time pa yun para maayos nila yung l200 ko. This time inasikaso ako ng nagkabit ng evaporator ko, but nagmamadali syang umuwi. hindi nya ni-leak test ng maayos. Pinihit nya lang ng konti yung tubo near sa airfilter. Tapos kinargahan ng freon for 5 sec. OK na daw yun kasi maluwag lang daw yung pinihit nyang tubo. Nilagyan nya lang ng konting bula un pinihit nya and yung kabitan ng hose nila sa compressor tapos ok na. When I tested, lumamig lang ng konti, di man lang kalahati ng after ikabit yung bagong evaporator. Pauwi na yung nag assist sakin. When I ask if paano yun, hindi ganun ang lamig nun, He directed me kay mang mario. When I approach mang Mario, aba nirefer ako sa wife nya for the charge ng freon na dinagdag nila.
This time I don't mind paying basta palamigin lang nila and siguruhin na kahit man lang paabutin ng ilang buwan bago ako bumalik sa kanila. Eventually di na din ako pinagbayad. sabi ko obserbahan ko ulit. --> this time super di na ako satisfied sa after sales nila and gawa nila.
The AC only lasted after 2 used. Nagswiming kami last Apr 21 and I know half na lang un lamig. When I used it again that week, wala na namang lamig. Until now di ko pa naibabalik ulit. 2 weeks na kong nagtitiis ng walang AC. I don't have the luxury na pumunta ng maaga dun and mag invest ng mahabang oras sa napakainit nilang location. Maaga silang magsara and sarado kapag sunday. I know madami din customer kapag saturday. naranasan kong abutan ng lunch time dun till 5pm. kahit saan ka pumuwesto, even sa garage nila mainit. Talagang sacrifice. I'm really thingking na sa iba ko na patingnan to because magdudusa ka talaga if magpagawa ka sa kanila. today nagbyahe ako sa mkt, s the hottest temp this year. Ang init ng hangin. Nakukunsumi ako thinking that I invest for something para di ko maexperience toh. But hindi ko mapakinabangan yung gastos ko.
Sobrang Di na ko happy with my experience with them. Ano ba yung if talagang di ka nila maasikaso that day na you give your customer and assurance na pagbalik nila, ipprioritize ka nila para maresolve agad yung prob mo. I don't have much money so Ano ba yung magexpect ka na masulit mo yung pinaghirapan mo.
In the end balik ako sa kanila this wed, i have an appointment whole day tom. Sacrifice ulit sa init. I'll go back sa kanila since sila kasi yung nagkabit and dapat madali nila maayos yung AC ko.
My Feedback:
Yes mura ang singil nila for cleaning. But parts price, I agree na mahal sa kanila. My initial plan is labor lang kukunin ko sa kanila and akin yung parts, sabi nila mas mapapamahal pa daw ako if akin yung parts so naconvice ako na kunin na yung parts sa kanila. Di na ko tumawad pa sa kanila masyado because I have this mindset na magaling sila and magiging sulit yung investment ko. (I was wrong) Yes, hindi sila nananaga at nagsusugest ng walang katotoran but I see na hindi na din sila mura maningil, bumabawi na din sila sa ibang bagay and mataas na din singil nila.
If your planning to go there, be prepare to give atleast half day or your whole day. Be prepare as well na if mag kaback job, added pasakit ulit yun and investment for half a day. If you have the time in the world to invest incase na magkaback job, please try mang mario. if not wag.
Be prepare sa init and maging parang basang sisiw na di alam saan sisilong. Sobrang init pa naman ngayon. When I went there, nakapag halo halo na ako, ice cream and 2 softdrinks.
They don't issue original receipt, what I have is an acknowledgement receipt, na my pangalan ni mang mario but no tin no. Nakuha na nila magpagawa ng receipt but didn't bother to pay taxes. and I think ilang taon na nila ginagawa to.
Sorry Mahaba, for those who read, i want to be fair kasi and tell kung ano ano ang mga nangyari. I want give them credit but a doubt as well na my risk or flaws din sa service nila. Parang PGH, if you want a free check up, spend your whole day for free check up. But kay mang mario hindi naman free, hindi din kamurahan yung singil nila. I Think average na yung pricing nila so dapat my expectation diba.
My hope is that this will empower mang mario to improve his services specially yung back jobs nila. His customers are rich guys who want to save money, and poor guys like me that can only afford a small budget. So dapat maging fare sila to everyone. I think his grossing 5T up a day. net ng 2k up. Ano ba yung maglagay sila ng tent or shed para sa kawawang customer nila para di sila maging dried mangoes. Were willing to spend time when we visit his place, wag naman isama yung risk na ma heat stroke. :D

Thanks for the feedback. Pupunta ko dun now. My cousin's bmw wont start. Need to give him a jump. Malapit lang ako sa shop nila mang mar. Sana pala naprint ko ang feedback mo sir kaso nagmamadali na si insan.
