December 20th, 2012 05:34 PM #1Sir, what could be the problem pag namamatay ang engine when the aircon is on? The scenario is this, sa unang bukas ng a/c ay oks naman ang idle, actually tumataas pa nga po ng konti ang rpm which is good. But after around 10 minutes of driving, namamatay ang makina kahit pa naka-idle lang.
By the way, ride is honda. Your immediate response will be very much appreciated. TY

December 22nd, 2012 03:55 PM #3parang masyadong mababa ang idle mo. try mo increase by 100rpm, test. increase by another hundred, test again. idle speed should not be below 500rpm. most engines will increase the idle when the ac is started.
bro glenn's advice is worth checking. ipa check mo ang bearings using an ultrasonic detector.

EFI or Carb type engine mo?

December 24th, 2012 01:39 AM #7Pa check mo na lang sa aircon specialist. Medyo malayong carb adjustment kasi kapag umiinit lang saka magluko.

January 17th, 2013 11:50 AM #8Sir, just an update. Already brought my ride to a car specialist then had my ac checked.
So his immediate recommendation is to replace my compressor kaso may kamahalan kaya hinde ko muna pinagalaw...and I want to seek some advices here first bago ko po papalitan baka kasi may mas cheaper & reasonable solution but for long term din naman.
TY

Depends on which bearing pinaguusapan. If yung clutch bearing lang pwede palitan. Pero kung internal bearing na ang stuck up either overhaul compressor (not recommended per my experience) or palit na talaga.
Worst case aapoy ang engine compartment mo when the friction heat ignites something flammable
