November 11th, 2013 12:13 PM #1Hi, I'm having a problem with the AC of my CRV 2003 M/T. The air is not cooling anymore. At one instance, I switched on the fan and the cooling levels and then I checked if the fan (the one on the left when facing the front of the engine from outside) on my engine is rotating. However, I found out that it's not rotating after traveling for 15 minutes. Usually I hear a ticking sound when I switch on the cooling dial but now it's no longer doing that.
I tried to drive again but this time the AC was functioning, the air was cool. So I checked again the fan on my engine and I video-recorded it just to narrate it better. See video here: CRV 2003 MT AC/Fan Testing - YouTube
The fan is rotating but after some time, it stops completely. And then, it starts all over again and stops completely (in cycles).
Now, here are my questions:
1. Is that normal? The fan rotates, stops completely, and then starts again and stops in cycles?
2. Is there a recommended/ideal way of switching on the ACs?
3. Where is the best shop to repair this? I've been seeing mentions of "Mang Mario" on this thread.
4. What specifically could possibly be the problem with my AC?
5. How long does it usually take to get it repaired and how much would it take?
Thanks!
