November 11th, 2013 12:13 PM #1Hi, I'm having a problem with the AC of my CRV 2003 M/T. The air is not cooling anymore. At one instance, I switched on the fan and the cooling levels and then I checked if the fan (the one on the left when facing the front of the engine from outside) on my engine is rotating. However, I found out that it's not rotating after traveling for 15 minutes. Usually I hear a ticking sound when I switch on the cooling dial but now it's no longer doing that.
I tried to drive again but this time the AC was functioning, the air was cool. So I checked again the fan on my engine and I video-recorded it just to narrate it better. See video here: CRV 2003 MT AC/Fan Testing - YouTube
The fan is rotating but after some time, it stops completely. And then, it starts all over again and stops completely (in cycles).
Now, here are my questions:
1. Is that normal? The fan rotates, stops completely, and then starts again and stops in cycles?
2. Is there a recommended/ideal way of switching on the ACs?
3. Where is the best shop to repair this? I've been seeing mentions of "Mang Mario" on this thread.
4. What specifically could possibly be the problem with my AC?
5. How long does it usually take to get it repaired and how much would it take?
Thanks!

November 11th, 2013 05:37 PM #2not an expert, but based sa explanation mo normal operation ang a/c mo pero parang need na niya ng freon or general cleaning. kelan pa ba yung last cleaning niya? better ma-check yan ng a/c specialist or dalin mo kay "Joey" Joey Aircon Shop sa Pasig, a trusted a/c specialist

November 23rd, 2013 08:20 AM #6Now, here are some observations:
1) Normal lang ba na sabay yung 2 fans na patay-sindi if the A/C is switched on? Or dapat ba umaandar pa rin yung radiator fan kahit hindi ako nakaaircon?
2) I tried turning the fan to level 2, hindi nagrorotate both fans. I tried switching on the A/C knob, and then yung radiator fan lang ang umandar. Is this normal?
3) There's a tube re: A/C na usually nagmomoist diba? (See 1st picture below) Kaso nung nicheck ko, hindi siya moist.
4) Kapag naka-fan ako and then I switch on the A/C, hindi siya malamig, mainit siya.
Thanks.

November 23rd, 2013 12:13 PM #7sa madaling salita ang A/C ng CRV mo hindi nalamig, pa check mo kung my freon kung my freon malamang di nag engage ang compressor pag di nag engage ang compressor di rin iikot ang condenser fan motor check mo my Fuse yan, pag laging nasisira ang fuse something wrong either fan motor or clutch ng compressor, pag walang freon my leak lang sana, 10years na pala yan malamang papalitin na yan ng compressor....

November 28th, 2013 03:32 PM #8thanks for your response. natry ko na dalhin sa 2 shop (yung isa dun kay mang mario) - ang findings nila ay something with the fusebox. natry na kasi nila itest yung mga pos-neg nodes (yung gagamit ka ng wires and may bulb to test connections) and okay naman yung sa ilalim ng makina at fuse dun sa loob (sa baba ng steering wheel). ang recommendations nung 2 shop: replace fusebox daw. sa casa naman, yun na lang rin ang hindi pa nila sure kasi okay naman ang compressor, may freon naman, okay lahat except for the fusebox part.
hindi pa nila natetest kasi wala silang unit kaya umorder pa sila dun sa may sta rosa. possible nga kaya na fusebox talaga?
plug and play lang naman yun diba? so dapat mabilis lang ikabit?
thanks ulit.
