I think the wipers won't skip right away, I tried RainX back then. It will take some time or I didn't do it right so I had a skipping wiper. Microtex so far is good for me without any skipping wipers, but Elevo is the best. Just be careful with body paint.

So far I don't have skipping wiper issues with Glass Science Rain Clear gel. For quick cleaning, I use this

Im good with Microtex. Has good water sheeting and apply it every quarter. Been using my blades for 2 years without skipping when I used to change it every year. Either Microtex has good effect on the blade or its the quality of the Denso brand.

This JetSeal product from The Chemical Guys seems a good product for keeping the windshield hydrophobic. They claim it can last for a year.

Unfortunately JetSeal is out of stock from local reseller.

And what makes you say that? ... have tried a lot of these type of products including rain-x ... even tried Aquapel (are you aware of this brand?) ... they all made wipers skip after a while ... once you start ... you will need to keep on reapplying ... your other option is to scrub the glass thoroughly to remove it ...
