3. Paano po inaapply ang rain clear? wet or dry windshield? MF towel for application?
4. Gaano po katagal ang tinatagal ng rain clear sa windshield?
5. Gaano po katagal bago ko po ulit gamitin yung glass scrub? does it remove the rain clear in the windshield?
TIA

September 15th, 2009 12:49 PM #21/2 - yup, elevo watermark remover does good at this. another thing to use here is mother's chrome polish or d' best polish. i purchased mine in handyman. use wet pranela or mf while rubbing the glass - remember keep the glass wet. btw, do a good wash of the glass first before using these. use glass scrub to rinse off the polish. i use meg's foam applicator for rinsing. judging from your description, matagal na kuskusan to
from experience hindi ganun ka effective ang glass scrub kapag nanuyo na ang watermarks. for really stubborn water marks, you can use a new razor blade.
3 - prior to rain clear gel, make sure the glass is well preped and super clean. apply it immediately after thourougly drying the glass surface. a small amount of gel goes a long way. the small satchet of it is enought to accomodate all glasses of 2 4-door cars double coated + side mirrors to ha. i just used a soft paper towel for application.
4/5 - in my case, i just had it for a month and it still works well. that includes at least 2x a week of car wash. i haven't used my wipers ever since i had rain clear gel. since i got the time naman, i re-apply it after a month since tagulan naman. i just use glass scrub to clean prior to reapplication. it won't remove rain clear that easily. mahirap pwersahin ang rain clear gel matanggal.Last edited by spyghost; September 15th, 2009 at 12:52 PM.

Me, I used baking soda. Very effective. Nakakapagod lang pero satisfying ang result after kasi tanggal talaga.
Yun nga lang, very corrosive ang Baking soda. Kaya nya tunawin (literally) ang windshield stickers such as village stickers and LTO sticker. Or baka sobrang tapang lang nung nagamit ko.

thanks sir spyghost
tsaka what if sir wala po ako nung mother's chrome polish? pwede pong after wash ko, rinse, then glass scrub agad? tapos dry, then rain clear? tama po ba?
TIA sir Godbless
edit: BTW i also have ArmorAll auto glass cleaner? can i use that as well? if yes, and then the steps would become..... wash, rinse, GS glass scrub, ArmorAll auto glass cleaner, GS Rain clear?

September 16th, 2009 08:30 AM #5if you can't find mothers chrome polish, you can use the one labled as "d' best polish" medyo bihira ito. i got mine sa handyman metroeast. kung di grabe, baka kayanin na ng glass scrub.
if you got armor all glass cleaner, ito gamiting mong first step, then glass scrub.
basta ang technique dito e, dapat ang tubig e sheeted sa buong salamin at hindi "nagbibiak" kapag asa ganung stage ka na, malinis na ang salamin mo. that is the only time you fully dry the surface and apply the rain repellant gel.

2. elevo watermark remover. rinse. dry with MF (as per its instructions)
3. armorall glass cleaner.
4. GS Glass Scrub (wet windshield???)

September 17th, 2009 12:55 AM #7if you have glass scrub...
1. ok
2. no need to dry, proceed to step 4
3. you can skip this one
4. keep glass wet when using glass scrub (its in the instructions) and thoroughly dry as in totally dry up to the edges of the mouldings and trims
5. ok
if you bought only rain clear gel w/o glass scrub (usually the 75 peso satchet)
1. ok
2. ok
3. ok
4. skip since you don't have this one
5. ok
in the last rinse stage nga pala (before drying prior to application fo the gel), see to it na wala na yung rainbow residue before drying. banlaw lang ng banlaw ang style dito.
if you have the armor all, i suggest buy nalang the satchet of rain clear gel para di rin sayang budget. use it nalang insted of the glass scrub. just buy your glass scrub after consuming the armor all.
btw, save the spray bottle of armor all glass cleaner... maganda bottle nila pati sprayer... matibay.

kakaapply ko lang ng GS Set (glass scrub, rain clear) on our vios last thursday yata..it works perfectly though di ko pa sya nasusubukan under the rain..but when i spray it with water it just slides down, di sya namumuo at dumidikit sa windshield..natuwa nga mom and dad ko hehehe..and the glass scrub completely cleaned the windshield..pag pinaliguan ng tubig lahat naka-sheet sa windshield..5 mins na, sheeted pa rin..natanggal rin niya yung invisible water mark sa windshield..
*sir spyghost thanks po!

types of marks i encountered during GS application
maplike glass stain - seen on washed glass when treated with absorbant chamois, usually on the not totally dried area touched by the chamois. also seen after most of the water sheets down with no wiping.
full circular water stain - seen on dry glass before washing
circular water stain without filling- seen after washing and drying
concealed circular water stain without filling - using halo of light source - seen with some effort when dry
glass stain where wipers run - sometimes seen with some effort or when glass starts to dry
most of these stains cannot be seen when glass is wet or cleaning/scrubbing substance is present. seen after rinsing and drying so you'll need to repeat or try a slightly more aggressive method.
