Wasn’t able to test drive the Lavida, but from what I saw, the Jetta really is an overall better car — with a cheaper sticker price to boot. Those considering to jump into the entry-level European experience should definitely go for the Jetta.
The common critique against the Jetta has always been its vanilla look that could be mistaken for a 2000s car, but the sharp edges of the Lavida make it look like an even older version of that. Ewan ko, but the rear of the Lavida irritates the hell out of me. Mukhang Chinese car talaga.
Kung sa tao pa, the Lavida looks like a masungit 50-something land lady while the Jetta is its more youthful and curvaceous tenant Should have taken a pic pala since they were displayed side by side in the showroom.
For more, the Lavida is also at a big disadvantage by virtue of its petrol engine. Not sure about the fuel efficiency of the 1.4 turbo though. The Lavida makes use of more hard plastics and a thinner steering wheel which makes its driving position less comfortable than the Jetta’s. It also loses some niceties like the trunk passthrough via the rear armrests, the touch screen infotainment system, and rear backup camera; in exchange, you get front and rear sensors, and foglamps.
Medyo nagka-buyer’s remorse pa ako over the Jetta for a brief moment. Oops
1.100M bro. Lavida is 1.171M.

March 5th, 2019 09:55 PM #156Test driven the Lavida and performance isn't the same with the Jetta but is still better than the common Japanese options out there.
Lavida 1.4 TSI is not the same 1.4 TSI engine of Jetta which is the CTHD engine code a twin-charge giving 160 hp/250n-m. The rear suspension setup is day and night. The Jetta handles really well at high speeds (220kph my top speed so far). Oh I should mention also that the Jetta 1.4 TSI has bigger rotor disk than the Jetta diesels (both 1.6 and 2.0 TDI). The 1.4 TSI twin-charged rocks! The same engine in the Audi A1

April 4th, 2019 03:01 AM #160How's the ride of the Jetta compared to older BMW 3 series like the E90 na halos ka presyo niya?
