our increased speed of access lately has made our boards more prominent in the radar screens of spam bots.
anyway, we have already installed another version of an anti-spambot script and hopefully this works better than the former. we will monitor the occurrences of spambot registration, new thread creation and posting and we'll see what happens.

the bulletin board script always has this Human Verification Script in the registration process. it's just the spambots (and their creators) have become so sophisticated and smart that they now can get around most of the industry's anti-spambot scripts.
and very busy boards like tsikot are particularly attractive to such spambots because of the significant traffic.
anyway, i have installed a new anti-spambot script that will 'hopefully' prevent spambot accounts from being created and spambot threads and replies from being posted. we'll observe and monitor if this will be more effective than the former.
