Bali, Indonesia is tourist friendly. You can find packaged tours going there easily enough. It just got a bad rap due to the bombings then the asia tsunami disaster.

I went to Sydney and Melbourne in Australia a couple of years ago. Just bought the tickets and booked the hotels and airport transfers online. Everything else was just planned by researching what stuff to do like signing up on day-tours there or even just using the mass transport (like the train or trams) to get to places.
It was only for under two weeks but it was very relaxed because I could go where I wanted and stay longer in places if I liked.

I have worked in the following countries:
1) Indonesia (Indonesians are a very friendly people. Pinoys are highly respected.)
2) Japan [High tech society. First time I have seen a toilet with many push buttons. Experienced winter (snow!) for the first time. Tokyo Disneyland (long wait standing in line for a short ride). Japanese corporate culture has many quirks.]
3) Hongkong (Crowded. Pinays converging at Central park on Sundays.)
4) China (Short business trip / visit to a huge factory).
5) Singapore (Excellent urban planning, public service and public transportation. Sad to say, for a Tsikoteer of modest means, their government discourages car ownership by taxation - you have to pay for the right to own a car. Presently working there.)

"Again, I always go to sea as a sailor, because they make a point of paying me for my trouble, whereas they never pay passengers a single penny that I ever heard of. On the contrary, passengers themselves must pay. And there is all the difference in the world between paying and being paid." - Herman Melville, Moby-Dick.
