Here is something I got from my facebook account...
Here's a racket I experienced at NAIA 1:
If you think airport taxi rates are exorbitant and you plan to take a regular metered cab at the departure area so you can save, well think twice. Or at least be wary of a new modus operandi some preying taxi drivers now employ.
Once you step out of the departure exit to look for a cab which just dropped off a departing passenger, be on the look out for a guy who acts like he knows you, waving you to take a cab that just happens to be free at the time.
Apparently, their tactic is for the barker to lead the arriving passenger into a cab, even opening the trunk for you so you'd put all your stuff at the back. Then once you get in, the guy sits in the front passenger seat with you in the cab. Irregular, yes but you may think the tall guy was just hitching a ride to the exit. Moments later, as you head down the ramp, the barker hands you a laminated rate card of the Airport Taxi service. Wait a minute, this was supposed to be a metered taxi ride, right? Hence why you went to the departure area to get a departing cab. There was nothing on the taxi to say it was an Airport Taxi, and those are only available at the arrival area. Moreover, these guys don't even have a receipt! .......
