if you are nearing your PMS checkup, have it done.

also some car dealerships (Mitsubishi) and gasoline stations (Caltex) offer free checkups.

on long travels... bring the following:

    - jug of water (preferably distilled)
    - brake fluid
    - car jack & other tools
    - duct tape
    - jump cables
    - tow ropes
    - flashlight
    - air compressor / pump

What I usually do is before a long trip is:

    1. Engine tune-up
    2. Check belts. If there is even a sligt crack, I change the belt.
    3. Check oil. If my scheduled oil-change is just a week or so away, I have the oil changed.
    4. Check my tyres and wheels.
    5. Have my steering and underchassis checked.
    6. Have fluids and hoses checked (AT fluid, brake fluid, etc.)

Things I bring during a long trip:

    1. Rope (in case I need to pull or get pulled)
    2. Jumper cables
    3. Water
    4. DIY kit for flat tyres (saved my fat a*** lotsa times)
    5. Heavy duty duct tape.
    6. Water-Stop (in case I have a radiator leaking or something)
    7. Halogen flashlight
    8. A map
    9. First-aid kit (medicine, bandages, betadyne, cotton, alcohol, band-aid and calamine lotion. These things come in handy if the place my family and I are staying is far from a drugstore. Saved my kid one time.)
    10. Heavy lead pipe (used as a leverage beam for my tie-wrench or for a whupping stick in case some jerk tries something stupid with any member of my family.)

My wife often kids that I get paranoid when I travel. But as she found out lotsa times, if there is an emergency when we are on the road, I usually have something handy.

also if meron buy the johnsen quick-flat fix, if ur stuck in the middle of nowhere with no one to fix ur tires, just spray the whole can into the punctured tire and u could still travel for over a hundred kms, shempre this is for extreme emergencies lng.

Thanks, a lot..for your quick response..now i can visit Concorde or ACe hardware to buy this stuffs you mentioned. Now , If I will have my Revo check by a auto techinician, aside from going to "CASA" I am also thinking going to RAPIDE, this auto shop w/ a Yellow and black color signage . Siguro ay mas cheaper ang service fee nito compare sa toyota, mukhang maayos naman ang serbisyo nila.We have here near our place in alabang, just across West gate..okey lang ba ito? Have you tried the service of RAPIDE?

May thread dito about Rapide... you can do a search and see if its worth your while to go there. You can just go to Caltex or any gas station to perform checks on your ride, mas mura pa or you can DIY the check up.

Do you have to change tires after doing this?

as i read in the instructions, this is a temporary fix, maximum travel of 100+ kms to look for a vulcanizing shop asap, they have to clean the inside of the tire (of the foam) before doing the permanent patch repair.

I've used a spray-based quick-flat fix before. You can use it until you get to the next tyre servicing station. No need to change styres: remove the tyre/wheel valve, spray the contents of the can on the fla tyre, re-place the valve then pump in some air. Like what BlueBimmer said, one can still use the busted tyre for up to 100kms.

Question: What are the possible uses of duct tape when you travel?

(Don't get me wrong. I used to watch McGyver. Isip lang ako ng mga possibilities.)
